Math Instruction

For the last two to three years I have been creating math instructional content for Amplify Education and most recently a small start up called Zearn. Collaborating with classroom teachers I designed content for students and teachers.
Games and Animations

NOTE: All these examples are flash based and should be viewed in a flash enabled browser. From 2001 to 2003 I worked with LEGO creating games and features for LEGO.com. For all these examples I wrote the code, did all the animations and for the two games I worked with illustrators for the graphics. I enjoyed making these projects learning about game mechanics, advanced coding, and traditional animation techniques such as squash and stretch, anticipation, timing, etc.
B2B Applications

Business to Business Applications. When designing applications that people will use as part of their job I've found there is a different set of challenges and opportunities. While you can expect that the user will invest more time understranding the interface which allows you to make a more dense UI you are also aware that if you deliver a poor user experience you can really have a negative impact on people's lives. Below are three examples of applications that I designed. Analysis of collected data.

NOTE: All these examples are flash based and should be viewed in a flash enabled browser. I love to play with code and push my coding skills past where they should be. Although I haven't coded professionally in maybe 6 or 7 years I still try to flex my coding muscles with explorations and prototypes. Explores code to control a looped animation. The class used in this exploration is also documented. This video shows my exploration into capturing physical gestures with a standard webcam.

Sometimes my job is primarily being a problem solver. The problems I come across can range from fundamental aspects of a product to mild inconsistencies in a user interface. Solutions can be found through asking questions, reducing features, sketching, prototyping or producing detailed wireframes. Below are a sampling of the types of work I produce.
