kindred spirits: Bappy Hirthday!
http://calia-k-s.blogspot.com/2014/07/bappy-hirthday.html
Stories from my beautifully messy red-head life, and the kindred spirits involved. Sunday, July 20, 2014. We had the girls' birthday party on July 20th. July just happens to be right in the middle of the two, and not quite so busy. This was a fun evening with lots of friends! And, did I mention? I GOT AWAY WITH HAVING ONE BIRTHDAY PARTY INSTEAD OF TWO. I believe I will be doing this for as long as I can get away with it. The girls birthday gift from Ric and I: their new dresses. Elsa and Anna hair. I sho...

Stories from my beautifully messy red-head life, and the kindred spirits involved. Thursday, July 24, 2014. Another summer of swim lessons. Xaris is swimming solo, except for her nervousness about not being able to hold herself up long enough to breathe. She'll get it, I'm hopeful for the rest of the summer. She has done fine with it, and hopefully she'll be brave enough to try swimming on her own too. If a Tree Falls. If a tree falls on the house when mama's not home, is it still her fault? Jose the Tre...

Stories from my beautifully messy red-head life, and the kindred spirits involved. Friday, September 12, 2014. Ilane talks a lot now. Well, at least to people she knows, and as long as no one else is watching or waiting expectantly to overhear what she has to say. She is a southern baby though, and talks pretty cute. Pretty much add 1 syllable to most words and that's her dialect. And while we are on the topic, Xaris has her language peculiarities as well. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Friends Work and Art.

Stories from my beautifully messy red-head life, and the kindred spirits involved. Friday, December 14, 2012. That which is not to be forgotten. Xaris speaks in very full, long, complicated, complete, and even bilingual sentences. However, as iXy is beginning to use more words and communication, I was reminded of those early days when I wrote down all the words she was learning, and how they all sounded. Cupake (exactly what you think it is.she just doesn't pronounce the second C. It is TOO cute). Jesus ...

Stories from my beautifully messy red-head life, and the kindred spirits involved. Tuesday, March 5, 2013. I am still learning who Azeltika (ezeltica? Who knows.) is. Sometimes she is one of X's small dollhouse dolls, sometimes who she talks to on her play phone, and sometimes neither, but the name still comes up. Azeltika has long yellow hair. Her nickname is Zelki. She has a friend named Ainka. Is this sounding familiar to anyone? Or- -do your kids have imaginary friends? This is fun so far!

Kate DiCamillo: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Charles Frazier: Thirteen Moons: A Novel. I had a really hard time getting into this one, but the writing was very well done. I did not find the characters sympathetic, but perhaps that's because I've read a lot of harsh stuff recently and was not moved by the plight of the idiots here. Kind of frustrating for me, I must say. David Baldacci: The Camel Club. Jeannette Walls: The Glass Castle: A Memoir. Riveting story about the Resistance in Poland, ...
