Our trip to New Zealand and Sydney. Sunday, 12 February 2012. Day 50 - Hamilton and Raglan. Friday 10th February 2012. Beautiful sunny day so decided to revisit Raglan. A small pleasant beachside town, about an hours drive away, on the West coast. We packed a picnic and got away at 11.20. Sandra drove in our car to Raglan where it was overcast but warm. This was a stone Maori compass close to the car park. Mooched about and drove up to the Wainui Reserve overlooking Whale Bay for a picnic lunch.

Wall to wall sunshine and little wind, a perfect day for our kayak trip to Cathedral Cove with 'Cathedral Cove Safari Kayak. Looking down on Kiakoura for last time in morning sunshine. Rove to the viewpoint for one last time before leaving Kiakoura. Sandra drove so JB could take photos. JB and SL left batch in Cooks Beach at 10.00 and M&M left at 10.30 after locking up. Departed in beautiful sunshine which lasted all day. Zoomed photo from lookout point. Our trip to New Zealand and Sydney. Friday, 10 February 2012. Day 44 - Akaroa to Auckland. Saturday 4th January 2012. Left Akaora at 09.45 in hazy sunshine and Sandra drove all day. Stopped at Little River for coffee and toast where free wi fi was offered so we checked e-mails on our i pods. Drove along Gebbies Pass Road over the mountains to Living Springs where we stopped for a while. Roads were protected from falling rocks. Containers were put to good use. Here we saw lots of evidence of quake damage.
