There are four trail heads to the Marine Trail at Botanical Beach, Parkinson Creek, Sombrio Beach, and China Beach. Day and multi-day hiking trips can begin at any of these trail heads which also offer many day use opportunities. Congratulations to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on entering a team in the United Soccer Leagues Professional Division for the 2015 season. Unfortunately, the Whitecaps have announced that, as part of this new entry, their USL PDL team is to be discontinued, leaving the Victoria Highlanders as the only USL PDL team in British Columbia and no two British Columbian clubs facing off anywhere in the North American professional pyramid.
