http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2012/10/does-it-snow-in-kenya.html
Monday, October 29, 2012. Does It Snow In Kenya? Passports are in place, plane tickets will be purchased within days, and we're making our packing lists. We're going to Kenya! A photo from the Tenwek Hospital website. I'm so excited my hands are shaking as I write this. We've been talking and praying and dreaming about it for so long that I cannot believe the time has finally arrived. (I wrote about it in February in this post. We've had to push. The arrow points to where we'll be living. They also train...

Little Olsen: A Very Family Thanksgiving
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-very-family-thanksgiving.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. A Very Family Thanksgiving. For months before Thanksgiving this year, we had planned that we would spend a quiet day with turkey and cranberries at home because of Pete's work schedule. However, just a few days before the day actually arrived, Pete's schedule got a bit busier, so I decided to take the kids to see the families! Ella performed a little interpretive ballet for everyone. Friday afternoon we packed in the car and headed back to Duluth. Guess what? It took us just fo...

Little Olsen: Changes in the Kitchen
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2012/12/changes-in-kitchen.html
Friday, December 7, 2012. Changes in the Kitchen. But two months ago I started feeling something wasn't quite right. Rose cake - most requested style. Very first batch of cupcakes - August 2010. By James Bryan Smith) and read the chapter on margin. Three sentences really stood out to me. When we lack margin, it's our own doing and a sure sign we have stepped outside the kingdom. So be honest and be ruthless with your schedule. Your spiritual, relational, and physical health depend on it. Smith, p 130).

Little Olsen: the kitchen
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/p/little-yellow-kitchen.html
You can find pictures of my pieces on The Little Yellow Kitchen. Where did the name come from? My grandma's kitchen was yellow while I was growing up, and I've got a whole lot of wonderful memories from that space. And yes, my own kitchen is now painted yellow. It makes me smile. August 9, 2012 at 2:12 PM. You are really talented! Thank you so much for sharing yours! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All we know is that today we're going after what we can, living in the moment, and enjoying the ride.

Little Olsen: Christmas at Home
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-at-home.html
Monday, December 30, 2013. The Sunday before Christmas, we took our sweet Ella to her very first live stage production. I was wiping away tears as the curtain rose and Ella watched the dancers of The Minnesota Ballet's The Nutcracker. Is it my turn? When can I dance on the stage? It's in our blood! I love being on stage and always have. Pete and I gently explained between every single. There would be no more dancing? There's just something about taking care of two wee children at the same time. It ne...

Little Olsen: From Pete: My First Delivery in Africa
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2013/01/from-pete-my-first-delivery-in-africa.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2013. From Pete: My First Delivery in Africa. Today's post is the first time that Pete, my husband, has ever written on the blog. His story is moving as he describes what he experienced while working in the Kenyan hospital today where we are currently living. I’ve been wondering for months, maybe even years, what my first delivery would be like when we arrived in Africa. A vaginal delivery? Would there be instruments available? Would I even be in a hospital? I helped the nurses cle...

Little Olsen: Happy New Year's Eve!
http://littleolsen.blogspot.com/2011/12/happy-new-years-eve.html
Saturday, December 31, 2011. Happy New Year's Eve! Tis the last evening of the 2011. Isn't it amazing how quickly time passes? I know we hear that all the time, but really, it's true! Last year when Pete was working for New Years, Ella was 18 months old and slept in a Pack n Play while Pete delivered babies and I watched the ball drop in New York. This year, she's sitting next to me in the resident room at the hospital watching Sesame Street while Daddy delivers babies again! Visiting Daddy at work.
