Was severely affected and in wide areas even almost completely destroyed. About 700 kilometres of coastline between southern Kuwait and Jubail in Saudi Arabia were covered by an almost continuous band of oil and tar. Between High Water Spring (HWS) and High Water Neap (HWN) nearly every form of life was extinguished.
