Musings on How to Live a Creative Life. January 8, 2006. January 8, 2006. I just found a book arts site that has beautiful handbound, handmade books and includes pointers on how to make them. Dennis uses all different kinds of bindings and his covers are very bold and colorful. You can find his paper and book arts gallery at CaiLun.info. And he also has a blog. That has a lot of cool stuff on it. Enjoy! Mom Doesn’t Know Me Today. New Altered Books on Exhibit. 5 thoughts on “ Book Arts Blog. Feel free to ...

Musings on How to Live a Creative Life. January 1, 2015. January 2, 2015. Good bye to 2014! This is the last chance that I’ll get to write on the first day of the new year of 2015, so I’ve decided to go for it. This post might be a little disjointed or stream-of-conciousness-y, but I’m just going to write it anyhow because if I spend too long dwelling on what to write, I won’t write at all! And there’s the story of my writing life in a nutshell. Of course there was the whole breast cancer experience.

Musings on How to Live a Creative Life. Happy Valentine’s Day! She said sarcastically.). August 27, 2014. December 28, 2013 – Morro Bay. I had my first lumpectomy for breast cancer on Valentine’s Day, less than ten days after my initial diagnosis. Until I got the call from the Dr. M.’s assistant. There were no clear margins. They would have to operate again. And this time, might I consider a mastectomy? Hold on just a second . . . Hadn’t Dr. M. felt confident? How was I going to tell Michael, my sons, my...

Musings on How to Live a Creative Life. First the Good News . . . September 24, 2014. Trinity Church – NYC. Good news following my first lumpectomy. The doctor had also performed a sentinel node biopsy to see if the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. That had come back negative, so there was something to be thankful about. Was I going to use expanders? Did I have enough of my own skin or would they need to take it from my abdomen or back? It was more than I could handle. So I ultimately decided to ...

Musings on How to Live a Creative Life. A Taste of Yountville. May 6, 2012. May 6, 2012. On the Road to Yountville. My husband, Michael, had been bugging me for the last couple of years to go to Taste of Yountville, which is a food and wine tasting event in the town of Yountville in the Napa Valley. We are very fortunate to live about 35 minutes from Yountville, but it was cold and drizzly; I was hesitant. More Road Side Views. Rock Mushroom Garden by Rich Botto.
