Judith Castle: art photography. In the attic, the day’s experiences can always efface the fears of night. In the cellar, darkness prevails both day and night. In our civilization, which has the same light everywhere, and puts electricity in its cellars, we no longer go to to the cellar carrying a candle. But the unconscious cannot be civilized. It takes a candle when it goes to the cellar. The Poetics of Space. Blog at WordPress.com. Judith Castle: art photography.

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. July 24, 2015. Tags: age and creativity ( 2 ). Cento after T.S. Eliot. Cento after T. S. Eliot. By the waters of Leman I sat down and wept. At the violet hour. For those who walk in darkness,. Swaddled with darkness,. For Boudin, blown to pieces,. Where trees flower and springs flow. Teach us to care. We have lingered in the chambers of the sea. What is that noise? Wind under the door. I have no ghosts pressing lidless eyes and waiting. Or the rain land.

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help. Now I Lay Me Down. Judith Castle’s poems take the reader into unknown territory. Reading her work is like being a child on a dark night, venturing alone into a haunted house. The expedition is full of tension, but the ghosts we encounter seem somehow familiar and less frightening than we feared. Sheila Martindale, poet, editor, Island Writer. The Blessing of Trees.

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. This is for the lady. Who made a bonfire. One night last winter. When I was ten. She carried her clothes. Out of the house. I watched her, unafraid. Pour kerosene into the flames. Lifted in the trembling air. The ash of coats. Blouses shone in the heat. And fell like dark stars. Where she stood nameless. At the edge of the world. Wedding, May 1938. Fragrance of cut grass. Breathing on the branch. Today, lilac bouquet. Not in the photo. On the church steps.

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. June 11, 2015. Loving T.S. Eliot Master Poet. Didn’t you place the whoopee cushion on my chair with jokester flair? Didn’t I praise your ears, your serious hair? Love the fuschia lipstick. A biographer swore you wore in the company of men? Didn’t I wear the exact same hue as you? Were you not meant to be a poet god? Communion and last rites. On holy nights writ large? Wasn’t your work a sung hymn? A Sunday psalm chanted on the page, as in the vaulted nave?

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. Lovin’ la vida solo. If your view of being single has been shaped by Bridget Jones, the 30-something who is desperate to get a man, you might need a reality check. Bridget touched a nerve with women as the hilarious protagonist of two Helen Fielding novels, blundering around in her pursuit of Mr. Right. The formerly married Castle lives alone by choice and, as she adds, passion. And she acknowledges that living alone can be as challenging as being mar...

Now I Lay Me Down: Mourning the Loss of Children. November 10, 2015. The narrow eye of time. Untethered, the white horse. Down the rut-mud road,. To the unbelieving ear. Of her belovèd’s death. Each winter the gray dirge. Bitter memory, loss. Yet the blessèd oil. Like a belated gift. Anoints the lover’s ear. As the white horse,. In the snow field. October 1, 2015. In the wheat stubble. In a dusty pinafore. Squinting for a photo. Moan of brittle wind. Before sleep, the ghost. Reaching for the deaf ear.

Lunes, 7 de junio de 2010. How to practise English during the holiday? The best way to practise English is reading a book, watching English films. You also could travel to an English-spoken place and of course talk with the lost English tourists on the beach and guide them where they want to go. I think that's the best way to practise it! Plans for the holidays. Martes, 27 de abril de 2010. A dangerous situation: The Eyjafjalla volcano. The last month a volcano beggan to erupt in Iceland, a lot of lava w...
