Judith stitches …. My progress towards City and Guilds Level 3 Embroidery Certificate, with Distant Stitch. Monthly Archives: March 2015. Module 2 Chapter 10. Piecing’ A method of cutting and seaming. I like the optical illusion of oblique or crooked horizontal lines. The sample in image 2 was constructed as for image 1 to the fourth stage, then for the fifth stage, I made angled cuts, and displaced the pieces along the angle of the cut to break up the pattern. Judith stitches …. My progress towards City and Guilds Level 3 Embroidery Certificate, with Distant Stitch. Monthly Archives: May 2015. Module 2 Chapter 11. Further Design Exercises leading to fabric samples. For this section of the chapter, I used a combination of my decorated papers (printed from scans so I had enough), and black and white bond paper. I’ve taken the examples in the chapter notes as a starting point. The next set (images 14 to 17 ) are also simple blocks, this time using papers cut at o...

EB's Blog…I'm in Stitches! My embroidery and creative stitching experiences. DS2, Ch. 8. Not What it Seams! June 3, 2015. Not what it seams? Not seams, trims! I started this chapter by skipping the seams part as I felt really lacking in inspiration or imagination. However working through the trimmings etc helped me over this hump and it seems I can seam seams after all! A bit like shoes, I am always on the look out for the perfect fit!
