Tuesday, September 12, 2006. The Newkirk Avenue station is an elevated station described as an "open cut" under the street surface. The station is only a small cottage in the middle of the Newkirk Plaza Shopping Mall. The cottage was renovated in the late 1980's and and again in the late 1990's. It features themed artwork by David wilson called "Transit Skyline.". The cottage where the MTA staff is located is a historical site and part of the historical preservation of Flatbush. East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Sunday, September 17, 2006. The subway lines that stop at my station are the Q and the B. The Lines become one as they move from Manhattan to Brookyln. While the Q only starts in Midtown and spans down to the Brooklyn shores, the B train goes from Brighton Beach all the way to Bedford Park Boulevard in The Bronx.
