The cheapest scanner I have it only supports in combination with the scanner driver (so that would be not so much use for you), but it happily supports the others by itself.

Wednesday, June 24, 2009. The Kids, Jeff, and myself went to San Diego for a couple of days at the beginning of June. It was so much fun watching the kids run around enjoying the ocean! Friday, August 15, 2008. The kids spent a long time this morning playing a game called Honey Bee Tree, and the kids loved it. Most importantly, they learned how to take turns!
