Acquiring technical engineering knowledge in an informal, group-based environment. Studies in space, representation, and psychology of architecture. I have written code that can sort through, create, and edit databases. I have used javascript to make interactive sites and games, such as a classic 15-puzzle. For the Earth and Space Sciences 472 Advanced Rocketry class I helped develop a new rockoon launch system. The rail-based launcher is flexible, accommodating rockets of any diameter and up to about eight feet in length. It uses a 900 MHz radio module to control rocket ignition and cut down. Uganda Diary
Friday, 3 April 2009. The Long Road Home. It is considered very bad form to show any kind of annoyance or anger in Uganda. This makes for a very pleasant environment both at work and out and about: everyone is courteous, patient and friendly and it is rare to hear anyone. This has been my last week of teaching and so has been full of farewells and of touching gratitude and affection. It is just like retiring all over again! There is a child. Fallen by the roadside. Crying in the dust. Wipe away her tears.
