Thursday, August 10, 2006. Isabella had her first day to preview her class at pre-school today. She just walked in said hello and went to the water color table. Next, she moved to the play kitchen, then the blocks, making friends wherever she went. It was great! No tears, no grabing my legs, and no hurting the teacher's feelings by saying she doen't like it. She loved it. It was great. Of course, I had to hold back the tears. One of many growing pains. Posted by Julia Fortunati @ 2:04 PM.

I must admit, I was thankful as it resulted in two weekly events (Thursday practice and Saturday game) coming off our schedule! But Faith had a great time playing soccer again this year, and her team won quite a few games, which was fun! We are all getting ready and are excited for the arrival of the baby! We had a little extra motivation this year to get our tree up early! I always love putting up the Christmas tree as it just adds so much excitement and sparkle to the whole house! The kids were extra excited this year too, and they were great helper in decorating the tree. Shane was pretty excited to rediscover some of the ornaments that he made.

As part of Faith's kindergarten curriculum, we do a science experiment each week. Some are better than others, and some work better than others! Since we have been learning all about plants and seeds and how they grow, a recent experiment was to grow some bean plants. While I was skeptical as to how they would grow in our science lab/kitchen, they actually did really well!

We were thrilled to welcome this healthy, sweet, peaceful baby to our family! It's hard to believe that she is now a week old! At birth she was 8 pounds and 2 ounces. June 26th, 2007. I attended my first quilt turning last night as Day 1 of the quilt workshop I am attending at NCCAT. I was stunned and amazed at the number of quilts and the variety and history of the quilts. What is a quilt turning? All in all, this gives us a very humbling introduction to the art of quilting.
