CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. To Fig Leaf or Not to Fig Leaf? That is the Question…. Bone of my bone. And flesh of my flesh. The first time poetry is written in Scripture is when Moses writes about the first time Adam looks upon Eve. How beautiful. I’ve always looked at this time in a story book way; I never saw it as a pure and gentle moment. My friend, Don has helped put that in prospective for me. Bone of my bones. And flesh of my flesh. Their relationship was beautiful. It’s b...No Witt...

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. Do you ever feel like you often don’t get the things you really want in life? Do you feel like God’s denying you these things or maybe like He’s not even listening? I’m sure we’ve all been through similar times. All we want is to hear God and for Him to answer our prayers and He doesn’t. True surrender really does equal true freedom. What issues do you not trust God with? Do you see your life as a bigger picture? As a part of a greater song or story? So, do you?

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. In church circles we talk so much about “creating community” in our church. But I can’t help but ask, “is community created? Or rather… discovered? 8221; I believe it’s discovered. You see, community always exists. We just often have to find it amongst one another. So, the question is, how do we do that? How is community discovered? If we are not discovering community within our neighborhoods than how can we expect our church to do the same? I’m not for s...

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. What More Could A Girl Ask For? I tell ya what- it’s been a pretty rocky past couple of weeks. Let’s hit on a couple of the highlights, shall we? Monday evening, as I was driving rapidly to the gas station (just being seconds away) my car suddenly stopped working! What could this be? Ah yes…. Silly me ran out of gas. Of course. In the ignition! Locked in my car! Confrontation with my boss. Frustrations with my job. Missing my family…. terribly. Not expressing m...

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. Somewhere Over the Rainbow. There are good days and there are bad days. Today? Well… Let’s just say I’ve had better. It’s days like today when I know I need to go and sit at my favorite coffee joint and hang out with Jesus and get some work done. I don’t get it. I jokingly told Kim today that Jesus must live at It’s a Grind because He always talks to me here and I always leave refreshed. God’s strength is beautiful. Today I need it.

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. My Life as it is. It has been an odd past couple of weeks. I’ve been highly unmotivated and beyond bored. I usually hate when people say “they’re bored” because I always want to tell them to do something about it. It’s weird though. I’m bored with my life, yet I feel so unmotivated to do anything about it. Until today, that is. My cell phone died. I will hopefully be getting a new one tomorrow…. with a new number, so be ready. I think so…. We need to get togeth...

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. The past few entries I have written have been rather “Debbie Downer”, but for some reason or another low times encourage me to write. My dad was an amazing man. He was a fighter. He loved him family so much. He loved his Saviour. He loved God’s creation. Although my heart is broken because I miss my dad so much, I’m envious of where he is now. I know he is fishing with Jesus. On June 10, 2008 at 10:32 pm Comments (6). CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. Second Verse Same as the First…. I don’t know how many times I’ve been asked whether or not I made a New Year’s Resolution. And the typical response is, “nah… I don’t do those anymore… they never stick.” But I can’t help but go there. What if I made a resolution? What would it be? So here it is:. 1 Love people through action. Like my friend said, “Be more generous…. even when it becomes inconvenient.”. 3 Notice people. Smile more. Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

CityEdge Church- Loving God and His People. On October 24, 2007 at 9:57 pm Comments (6). In the Name of Love. Since the Missional X Conference it’s been a whirlwind of thoughts and conversations. I left with several thoughts some of which I am still processing. But I would have to say the concept that hit me the hardest may have been the most simple. What if we loved people for the sake of showing them Christ’s love? What if we loved without an agenda? On October 7, 2007 at 9:00 am Comments (8).
