The funeral of Pope John Paul II, broadcast live from the vatican. Warsaw, Poland, April 2005. I find this photograph interesting because of the use of space within the picture 80% of the photograph is given to the mass of wires and metal that make up the broadcast equipment. We as the onlooker have the opposite view from everyone else in the photograph, rather than Pope John Paul being the focus, the public is. Power makes the ordinary extraordinary just by changing the way we 'look'. . What Is My World?

Saturday, 31 January 2009. More Work - Reflections. Ive been working at improving my composition, and bringing more meaning into my photos. Looking over Friedlanders work some more, one thing he uses a lot are reflections, often including himself. Ive given this a go myself to see what it says to the viewer about me, to see if it can carry some of my own feelings and opinions about the world. Let me know what you think. Valdes Peninsula, Argentina, 2001. I chose this photograph because pepsi and jesus are side by side. Big business alongside religion. Both are instantly recognisable images, however side by side they are unnerving. Erwitt's work is heaveliy based on connections however this is one connection that should not exsist. I find it incredible that two opposing ideals would sit side by side. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My World Follow up. What Is My World? View my complete profile.
