An oregonian in china. March 30, 2015. The last day in Borneo was fairly uneventful, we woke up early to have breakfast and take the two and a half hour boat ride back to Sim Sim water-town and Sandakan. Before catching our flight out of the Sandakan Airport, we had time to explore the central market and have lunch. We had stopped by the market on Monday, but it was late in the afternoon and it appeared everyone was pretty much done for the day. Monday – notice the woman is sleeping. Red Fish, Blue Fish!

On Thursday afternoon, we left Borneo for the next leg of our Malaysian adventure, our first flight brought us back to West Malaysia (on the peninsula) to Kuala Lumpur. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. A Seafood Bar Near Our House. This a one of our local bars. It's sort of a hole in the wall, but has so much character. The inside is cluttered with old business cards and nautical relics of the past. One of my favorite parts is that the menu is hand written on the lid of an old cooking pot. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Delicious Chinatown Baked Buns. In Chinatown there was a small shop selling baked buns filled with meat, pumpkin and other delicious fillings. There was a big line outside the shop which is always a good sign. I opted for the meat bun and inside this is what I found. The outside was a crispy baked bread shell.
