Dogwalker, Ph.D. Thoughts on volunteering with shelter dogs and life after the PhD. October 30, 2015. While organizing photos on my computer the other day, I stumbled upon one of my young son Calvin next to one of our early fosters, Ramsteen, in the back yard with my husband Dave throwing the ball in their direction. I had one of those moments where I immediately thought, What a beautiful dog! Before… Continue reading Attachment. BSL is the Pits. Forever home for Bonita. The Possibilities are Endless.

(Not) All the Same – Dogwalker, Ph.D.

Dogwalker, Ph.D. Thoughts on volunteering with shelter dogs and life after the PhD. Not) All the Same. December 26, 2015. I am writing this post to come clean about my latent prejudice against little dogs, who I always thought were all the same. I simply grouped them all together as strange little creatures who whine, cry, bark and pester. Terrible, isn’t it? Linus and Buddy will play fetch all day, running as fast as those little legs can take them. The Possibilities are Endless. Enter your comment here.

Dogwalker, Ph.D. Thoughts on volunteering with shelter dogs and life after the PhD. The Possibilities are Endless. January 29, 2016. The happy ending for Bella is that she is living a life that she perhaps never knew was possible. I just heard from her family that they took her to Mexico for the holiday break! Imagine that, rescued pit bull now vacations on the beaches of Mexico; if this is not proof that anything is possible, I don’t know what is. Not) All the Same. Forever home for Bonita. I usually like to do gradual transitions to the new forever homes, but in this instance that wasn’t an option as we were leaving for a long vacation in a few days and we had recently gotten our old foster T-Bone back, which brings us to the bad news.
