Some kind of photographic map with ramblings on the side. Best of New York City (Jan 2010). A favorite day: Grimaldi's for pizza; Jacques Torres for wicked hot cocoa; and a walk back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge. Molly and Ellen hadn't been here before, and I think I noticed them click with the city during this walk. Walking back to our hotel from the Columbus Circle area, the Christmas lights in the trees offset the light snow. Eric and Margit looked especially lovely that night. The last few...

Some kind of photographic map with ramblings on the side. If tomorrow wasn't such a long time (May 09). Not everyone who leaves a campus wants to come back, and I understand this. Attending reunions, donating to the college, and roaming the buildings post-graduation is not appealing to some people. But, for a good number, returning to a place like this provokes such an overwhelming response, sometimes it's best to pause and take it in. To maintain any sense of the past, it's a good idea to return to plac...

Some kind of photographic map with ramblings on the side. I finished up a day of application reading, which is great when I'm on a roll but mind-numbing when I realize I haven't stood up in 3 hours. As my mind wanders, I find myself looking through random photos I've saved to my desktop. The majority are work-related, but there are a few of ML and of my Ole family here and there. Then. I saw. http://dailygeo.blogspot.com/2013/09/california-day-1-chapter-two.html
Some kind of photographic map with ramblings on the side. California, day 1, chapter two. The schools I visited today were ridiculously beautiful. One of them was an oasis atop a hill overlooking Newport Beach, one of them a mini-Stanford, and the other a Mission-style expanse with mountains in the background. I chatted with a number of counselors, some who knew the college well and some who did not - but it's all in a day's work. Another challenge this trip had presented so far: driving! It's hot, too&#...

http://dailygeo.blogspot.com/2013/10/gimme-more-of-baltimore.html
Some kind of photographic map with ramblings on the side. Gimme more of Baltimore. There's nothing like a new adventure during a season that has a tendency to scream of monotony and exhaustion. The daily rhythm of hotels, driving, traffic, school visits, fairs, interviews. it can get tiring. However, I have been in the DC area for about 5 days now and it's nothing short of amazing. Pause while I eat this (at Miss Shirley's in Baltimore):. Whuf, that was delicious. I couldn't eat the whole thing. Meet me ...

My time in SoCal ended so gloriously, I'm in a little funk. I'll post some favorite photos later (you know I have a TON on my poor iPhone . I don't even have room to upload iOS7). But for now, 5 minutes before my next HS visit, know I'm feeling sweaty (humidity! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Carved up some pumpkins. Gimme more of Baltimore.
