Prairie Spirits: June 2015
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 12, 2015. In April and May, I knit the Aggie Sweater. Now I have a Christmas Quilt top to finish. I am also working on a shawl and some socks. Sooner or later the rain will stop. As summer warms up, I won't want a lap full of sweater yarn. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Notes from a Western Life. The Collins Family Adventure - Growing Up Green. View my complete profile. Prairie Spirits: September 2014
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 22, 2014. The changing season reminds me of a book I read to my children when they were youngsters. "Over and Over" by Charlotte Zolotow was published in 1957 and illustrated by Garth Williams. In this quiet story, a little girl celebrates a holiday or notices a seasonal change and asks her mother, "What comes next? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Notes from a Western Life. Prairie Spirits: Summer Moments
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2015/07/summer-moments.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. As July winds down, I'd like to slow the passage of this summer. We have stayed close to home, enjoying the garden, reading, knitting, sewing, and spending time with our three grandsons. Here are a few highlights from July:. My book group met at A Novel Idea. We had a surprise visit from our Texas daughter-in-law and grandson. We took A. and E. out to A's favorite breakfast spot for waffles and hot chocolate with sprinkles and whipped cream. Labels: A Novel Idea. I am a wife, mot...

Prairie Spirits: February 2015
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Making the Most of Winter's End. February days are often cold and gray. However as the northern hemisphere begins to turn ever so slowly toward Spring, the light begins to change. I mean to enjoy the last winter days. Late afternoon and again after dinner, I brew a cup of tea. A week or so ago, my son sent me a tea sampler of Harney and Sons Teas. Enjoy the yarn on your needles, homemade soup, hot drinks, and winter sunsets. They won't last forever. Sunday, February 8, 2015.

Prairie Spirits: Tidying Up: A Clean Knitting Slate
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2015/07/tidying-up-clean-knitting-slate.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. Tidying Up: A Clean Knitting Slate. I have been in a "tidying up" mood lately. Many folks are inspired to do this in January. When I taught school, summer was the time I cleaned kitchen cupboards and closets so I associate hot, humid weather with more extensive sorting and straightening of my belongings. Last week I decided to get my knitting projects in order. In June, I finished this Nurmilintu. I also blocked a Rocky Mountains Cowl. Which is my only project on the needles. I...

Prairie Spirits: March 2015
http://prairiespirits.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2015. Spring brings me renewed energy. I am working on inside projects before outdoor gardening season begins. Although it is tempting to clean out perennial and herb beds, I wait until the first week or so in April leaving weeds and last year's growth to protect plants from fluctuating temperatures. Ten days ago, temperatures reached 80 degrees but yesterday afternoon rain turned to sleet and the roofs were covered with frost this morning. And Stephanie Purl-McPhee's Knitting Rules.
