terry quinn poetry uk: April 2014
http://terryquinnpoetryuk.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Terry quinn poetry uk. Monday, 7 April 2014. Never mind the controversy ( if there is one ) over the winning poem in the National Poetry Prize there is an even greater one in the realms of our local poetry scene. It involves the question of whether applause should be encouraged, or not, after each poem in a reading by a poet. Applaud away as far as I’m concerned, make a point to a friend, have a drink, adjust your seat. Just be quiet when the poet is actually reading. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

terry quinn poetry uk: January 2014
http://terryquinnpoetryuk.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Terry quinn poetry uk. Sunday, 12 January 2014. In Praise of Bureaucracy. Just recently one of the members of our local Poetry Society said that they were not going to bother coming to the meetings any more as they were fed up with the half hour spent prior to the main part of the meeting. It goes almost without saying that some of this is a bit boring and most societies have two or three people who like the sound of their own voice or want to push their own agenda. terry quinn poetry uk: October 2013
http://terryquinnpoetryuk.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Terry quinn poetry uk. Monday, 14 October 2013. In the next few weeks I’m hosting an event at a local Arts’ Space. I’ve started the Facebook and email notifications and am now considering the flyers and posters. In the last two events that I’ve organised I’ve spent upwards of £50 on the things and as far as I can tell there has only been one person who has looked at them and as a result come to the evening. terry quinn poetry uk: December 2013
http://terryquinnpoetryuk.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Terry quinn poetry uk. Saturday, 14 December 2013. Like most people who have ever listened to Desert Island Discs I have collected and changed my selection many times over. A few constants have been Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street, Pie Jesu. Faure’s Requiem and the aria. From Catalini’s La Wally. I, also, always have a spoken word track which got me to thinking today what would be my Desert Island Poems. Today they are:. 1 Dart by Alice Oswald. 2 The Four Quartets by TS Eliot. 4 The Wasteland by TS Eliot.

terry quinn poetry uk: August 2013
http://terryquinnpoetryuk.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Terry quinn poetry uk. Thursday, 22 August 2013. The passing of a pocket notebook and the beginning of another is a ceremonial occasion. The old book is laid gently in the bottom drawer with its predecessors. A slight tear is allowable before turning to its successor. I have a basket full of notebooks untouched. Bought in a surge of excitement in a bookshop or stationers and which on return home prove to be totally, or frustratingly almost, unusable for any variety of reasons. The best notebook I’v...
