Julie Made This

My random ramblings and some things that I have made. Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Looking back over the past few weeks, we enjoyed a partial eclipse in the UK on the 20th March. Predictably that morning was cloudy, so while it went semi dark, the birds stopped tweeting and the light levels were odd, that was as good as it got. An eclipse viewed through cloud. The cloud parted and we saw this in our pinhole projectors. The Sun, Earth and Moon - in felt. A lesson learned there. The Earth in two halves. We've ...

Julie Made This: A caterpillar by any other name

http://www.juliemadethis.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-caterpillar-by-any-other-name.html

My random ramblings and some things that I have made. Thursday, 29 January 2015. A caterpillar by any other name. Monday brought a bit of a surprise for M. She pulled a sock onto her foot, only to have her big toe go through the end. A new experience for M, because it is only recently that her growth rate has slowed enough that she is giving clothing a chance to wear out before it needs to be retired because it is too small. I received a booklet about making sock creatures. M is an experienced stuffer of...

Julie Made This: A Chinese sheep

http://www.juliemadethis.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-chinese-sheep.html

My random ramblings and some things that I have made. Saturday, 28 February 2015. February is full of holidays with so many crafting opportunities for myself and M, which has led to a busy few weeks. I've signed up for a MOOC. Which is taking up what little free time I have in the evenings, plus I have a BSL course to make progress on, meaning I'm feeling a bit over commited at the moment. It is all good though, I just need more hours in the day! Work in progress cardigan. Our Chinese NY sheep. We were b...

Julie Made This: Richard III

http://www.juliemadethis.blogspot.com/2015/03/richard-iii.html

My random ramblings and some things that I have made. Tuesday, 24 March 2015. Blogging, or indeed spare time has been short over the last few weeks, mostly due to this chap:-. My problem was, when it came down to it, I just didn't know very much about Richard III, the late medieval period or The War of The Roses. Admittedly, we were unlikely to cover any of these areas in any depth with M at this age, but if she asked me any difficult questions I wanted to have a clue as to how to answer. The course lost...

The random twitterings of a midlander, midlife! Saturday, 27 March 2010. Well, I thought as I've not blogged for aeons (or so it seems) I'd slowly get back into things by doing the meme, which I apparently got tagged with, just by reading Meridianariels blog! So if you're reading this may I suggest you do the same too :-). Open the first folder and pick the 10th picture. It's that simple! Links to this post. The random twitterings of a midlander, midlife! Monday, 10 May 2010. Little and Large Craft Swapping. Dd1 and I decided to partake in a craft swap to help pass the Easter holidays, as she loves creating and crafting things, I thought this would be an ideal thing for us to do during the hols, which are usually wet and horrible, particularly as I was mainly off work! In return we got the goodies in the picture above, plus some yummy Green n Blacks Butterscotch Chocolate for me! Links to this post. Links to...

Midlands Midlife: October 2008

http://midlandsmidlife.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

The random twitterings of a midlander, midlife! Monday, 20 October 2008. Sorry if I've been AWOL for a while, I do have a good reason, no Internet. WHAT I hear you ask? Yes, that's right, I am net less, sob. The reason is not a lack of broadband, but rather a lack of computer at home. My pc. Christmas. Never mind, I'm sure it will all pan out in the long run, it'd better I only have a month left until year end. So in the meantime I'm blagging the use of other peoples. We saw some roughly week old piglets...

The random twitterings of a midlander, midlife! Monday, 17 November 2008. Crafting/the onslaught of Christmas. Well folkes, its been a while, but whilst I'm babysitting at Meridians I thought I should sneak a little blog. The random twitterings of a midlander, midlife! Wednesday, 15 April 2009. Sorry my posts have been missing for a while, I was rather poorly last week, unanticipated as these things always are, a quick two days in bed with the worst case of D&V I've had in years.not recommended during your kids Easter holidays.but I was better just in time for the chocolate and had obviously a huge excuse to eat my fill and gain the weight I'd lost being poorly! This one is by dd1. So here I attempted to show the Cherry B...
