Building to be demolished. 2002 – 2005) examined the demolition and regeneration of three iconic housing areas in Dublin: Fatima Mansions, Rialto; St. Michael’s Estate, Inchicore; and Ballymun Towers, Ballymun. The drawings show the buildings before and during demolition and the subsequent redevelopment of the sites. Block G Fatima Mansions Nov. ’03, carbon on paper, 150 x 190cm.

For War Department Purposes Only. Building to be demolished. Raquo; Carlisle Pier Residency. The Carlisle Pier Residency 2006 – 2010. The Carlisle Pier, built in the 1850’s in Dun Laoghaire, was a main point of departure and emigration from Ireland. The building was demolished in 2009. This project examined the history of the site and its social, political and psychological links to emigration. Distortion: building to be demolished Carlisle Pier, carbon on paper 120 x 165cm.

A lot of our landscapes from last week had come unstuck so first thing we needed to do this week was to fix them and make them stronger and sturdier. We were going to be adding PVA and tissue paper to them so they would have to be strong enough to take that! The class got stuck in and worked well together building up colour and form on their landscapes.
