The Cooks: DC
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/dc.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Our second go-around with the kids in DC was a little more relaxed, as we realized we didn't have to hit every major site. Brian took the kids to town while I was in meetings Thursday and Friday, and then we had the day all together on Saturday. View from our hotel. Yay for Shake Shack! Jenna is my only child who will pose with mascots. At the National Portrait Gallery, in the Presidential Portrait area, this is Jenna saying "WHY ARE THERE SO MUCH BOYS? Posted by Amber Cook.

The Cooks: Late July Hodgepodge
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/late-july-hodgepodge.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. At the new outlet mall, I found them in a dressing room like this. Jenna and Daddy doing some Girl Scout badge work (calculating pet care costs for her pet care badge). Flying Jackson at the South location of our pool, the first time they've wanted to try the diving board. Once they got up the nerve, they were hooked, and went off about 40 times each. We had to drag Jenna away by the time it was time to go. PBR NC at Creekside Taproom, a fun place we've just discovered.

The Cooks: Swim Season Wrapup
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/swim-season-wrapup.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Perfecting their strokes at the practice pool. Drawing a butterfly right before she swims her first butterfly event. The Sharpie-on-skin alarmed me a little, too, but evidently it's a swimmer thing. (Here's her arm, with her event, heat, and lane numbers. All the swimmers did it. It was weird.). LONG waits between events at the meet=lots of goofing off. Leading the pack in her butterfly heat. Some Uno between events with the team. Posted by Amber Cook. Friend and Family Blogs.

The Cooks: Biker Babes
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/biker-babes.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Riding bikes has never been high on the list of things my kids enjoy, despite living in a bike-friendly town among bike-obsessed neighbor buddies. We're determined to get them riding comfortably, though, so we took them to the Enka High parking lot for some practice. Jackson's pretty much got it, and was working on hills and turning and the like. He was having fun, but wouldn't admit it. Posted by Amber Cook. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Cooks: Cousins
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/cousins.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. We got a surprise visit from the Good cousins last week, when my brother came through for a work trip to his plant down the road from us. Eatin' popsicles on the wagon in swimsuits because why not. These are their "nice smiles.". Jenna chowing down on some mussels at Sierra Nevada. Posted by Amber Cook. The Cooks: This is 40
http://cooksinasheville.blogspot.com/2015/07/this-is-40.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. On my actual birthday, we didn't have plans to go out, but then my Dad's van broke down in town and he volunteered to babysit. His Nissan's misfortune was our good luck! We started with dinner at Nightbell, where every morsel was perfect. Posted by Amber Cook. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Friend and Family Blogs. Field Notes: Reports of the Grahams.
