Julie's dolls house blog: October 2014
http://juliesdollshouseblog.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Julie's dolls house blog. Monday, 27 October 2014. 1/12th Scale 'Cobweb Cottage'. Every so often I like to have a change from making my seaside cottages. This is 'Cobweb Cottage', a simple two roomed cottage ideal for the witch who is looking for a new home. There are little patches of old stonework showing through the plaster and the walls are a bit stained but it's very cosy inside with a warm stove and hearth to sit at. Monday, October 27, 2014. 1/24th Scale 'Periwinkle Cottage'. Sunday, 19 October 20...

Julie's dolls house blog. Thursday, 10 July 2014. Thursday, July 10, 2014. 1/12th Scale 'The Old Post Office'. I bought an old house front at the York Fair - I liked the bay window - then I built the house to go with it. This is the result. I even wallpapered the insides - unusual for me these days as plastering is so much quicker! Thursday, July 10, 2014. Friday, 4 July 2014. York Dolls House Fair June 2014. Will have to be quicker next time! Friday, July 04, 2014. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 1/144 Scal...

Julie's dolls house blog: 1/12th Scale 'Honeypot Cottage'
http://juliesdollshouseblog.blogspot.com/2015/08/112th-scale-honeypot-cottage.html
Julie's dolls house blog. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. 1/12th Scale 'Honeypot Cottage'. I have long been an admirer of the wonderful houses made by Rik Pierce. I also realised a long time ago that I would never be able to afford to buy one for myself so I decided to have a go at making my own. Honeypot Cottage is the result. I used a lot of plaster, cardboard, egg boxes (for the bricks) and air drying clay and had a wonderful time building this project. Wednesday, August 05, 2015. 5 August 2015 at 17:40.

Miniature House: January 2013
http://liduina88.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Brick Wall Part 2. In this post about making a brick-wall (part 2) I will show you how I coloured and cut the sheets of sanding-paper that I used for creating my bricks. After priming the sheets ( I think used about 10 or 15 sheets all together) with gesso, I covered them all with a transparant layer of burnt sienna (this is called a "glacis" in dutch) . I let this dry throroughly. On top of that I put some burnt umber, sometimes diluted with lots of water, sometimes apllied a bit thicker. In long pieces...
Miniature House: Kitchen Sink
http://liduina88.blogspot.com/2014/04/kitchen-sink.html
Progress on Miniature House. I made some changes to the fireplace and black cooker. And I constructed and painted a kitchen sink. This is how my hearth used to look like. I removed the back part and added a pipe. 65279;. Now I can enjoy the beauty of the tiles against the backwall more. I constructed a kitchen sink, starting out without a decent plan. That's usually my way of building; things can change any time during the building phase :D. And this is what it looks like now. Brick Wall Part 2. Mi mu...

Jubilee Dollshouse : Onwards and upwards!
http://jubileedollshouse.blogspot.com/2014/03/onwards-and-upwards.html
Diary of a Victorian Dollshouse. Share in my journey as I create a. Late Victorian miniature world. Friday, March 28, 2014. To the attic landing! Now this has long been waiting to be furnished - but with what? Just what do you use a landing for? Well in a dollshouse it's another room really.Another area to fill! I must admit though, to feeling quite confused as to what to put into this space and what it's real use would have been in a real house in the late Victorian/early Edwardian period.

It's the little things in life. Thursday, May 1, 2014. Pimping up old furniture. In this post you can follow my sofa as it gets refurbished shabby style. Before and after picture. Jubilee Dollshouse : Bedroom Doors
http://jubileedollshouse.blogspot.com/2014/03/bedroom-doors.html
Diary of a Victorian Dollshouse. Share in my journey as I create a. Late Victorian miniature world. Monday, March 31, 2014. Having shown you the bed linen it reminded me that I haven't really talked about the lady's bedroom. This room is on the right hand side of the house, above the parlour and adjacent to the bathroom with a door leading into that. The additional door is the one at the back of the room. I've left it ajar and fixed a light behind it so that it looks like it's leading somewhere.

Diary of a Victorian Dollshouse. Share in my journey as I create a. Late Victorian miniature world. Sunday, November 02, 2014. A few little additions in the bedroom. It has been awhile since I've been here and updated having spent much of my spare time over the summer months busy in the garden. Now Autumn is very much upon us and the days are shorter and colder, it's not quite as pleasant being out there so the minis and blogs are getting some attention. Here are a few little things I've been up to.

Julie's Sweet Life. 20 Cities in 6 Weeks. July 12, 2011. San Gimignano is a small Etruscan village from 200-300 BC. I have to say that of all the different places we visited I still like the old towns the best. They hold so much history and beauty. San Gimignano has narrow streets and stone buildings. It sits up high so the views are incredible. You can see vineyards for miles. Well, that make 20 cities I have visited in 6 weeks. Saturday I come home! Italian Words and Phrases. July 6, 2011. Julie's Doll House
Saturday, 14 June 2014. I picked up a mixed bag of plastic and fabric flowers for about 50p at York fair, knowing they would come in useful at some point. Added to the punch-out flower shapes, I've managed to create some pretty displays for my mansion. Links to this post. Sunday, 25 May 2014. A new range for the kitchen. I needed a new range for the kitchen, something that would suit the date of the house, which is Edwardian, early 1900s. So, I decided to build one myself! Making the range . Most of the ...

Julie's Doodle Blog. Whatever's on my mind. Wedding files: DIY satin belt. March 18, 2014. My wedding dress fit well off the rack, except it really needed some waist definition. So I bought a spool of 2″ wide polyester satin ribbon from Jo-Ann Fabrics and tied it into a sash. It pulled in the waist really well! Want to make a satin belt of your own? A length of satin ribbon (your waist size plus several inches). A length of medium or heavy weight fusible interfacing. Thread that matches the ribbon. Fold ...
Julie's Dramas
Wednesday, October 06, 2010. New paint, new floors. The only good to come out of all of this, well other than the fact that the flooring that. We accidentally scratched when moving the piano in got replaced, was that they repainted our living room, hallway and bedroom walls and ceilings to fix any places that got ripped when they pulled off the molding. And we got to choose the colors. So our formerly cave. Like living room (because the ceiling and walls were too dark) went from this:. Although I could h...
