Julie's Junque

Wednesday, May 6, 2015. I have been wanting to try acrylic paint on fabric and this challenge from PA was a great time to do this and, to use my spray vessels. Prepping my fabric with water, which I have done with dyes seemed a good place to start. I didn't use PFD fabric so another experiment! Then I choose 5 acrylic paints, added water to the sprayers and then a bit of paint. Each sprayer worked differently, some splatting and some small droplets. I used. Wednesday, April 22, 2015. On my container's li...

Julie's Junque: PaperArtsy Niches: "April Showers....Birds and Flowers"

http://juliesjunque06.blogspot.com/2015/04/paperartsy-niches-april-showersbirds.html

Tuesday, April 21, 2015. PaperArtsy Niches: "April Showers.Birds and Flowers". How wonderful to have just the right things on hand for a challenge. This little green plastic container was perfect for the PaperArsy Niches Challenge! Polymer clay was used for the bird, eggs and base for the quilled flower. I cut the nest from a woven twig ball that I added some burlap pieces and then the eggs. A bit of ribbon was added to two niche backgrounds and the bird has a feather behind it. Julie's Junque: MMMC: April Showers: "Butterflies and Flowers"

http://juliesjunque06.blogspot.com/2015/04/mmmc-april-showers-butterflies-and.html

Wednesday, April 22, 2015. MMMC: April Showers: "Butterflies and Flowers". April Showers" is the theme this month at Mixed Media Monthly Challenge. My "Butterflies and Flowers" display inatin show lots of butterflies flitting around the raindrops. Lots of raindrop dots are used on the tin front and pages to show how the flowers love the spring showers too! I used some ribbon for an easy way to lift the pages. April 25, 2015 at 6:18 PM. What a fun project! April 28, 2015 at 3:52 PM. Such a fun altered tin!

Julie's Junque: January 2015

http://juliesjunque06.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 31, 2015. Mixed Media Monthly Challenge January 2015 "New To You". Shrink Plastic is new to me! I only remember playing with "Shrinky Dinks" years ago with my children and since they had to go into the oven, Mom needed to supervise. Now came the fun! I used my heat gun and in less than a minute the heart began to shrink - quickly! Several times it collapsed into the middle, but I was able to pry back the sides and keep on shrinking until the heart lay flat. Monday, January 19, 2015.

Julie's Junque: MM Card Challenge: Flowers (2)

http://juliesjunque06.blogspot.com/2015/04/mm-card-challenge-flowers-2.html

Tuesday, April 21, 2015. MM Card Challenge: Flowers (2). The background for this card is stamped with a lovely butterfly stamp and a dot stamp. I cut out paper flowers and stitched them to the card. Along the right side is a swatch of handmade paper with zigzag stitches and a decorative stitch in the middle. Thinking of You" was hand printed! April 23, 2015 at 5:33 PM. What a lovely creative design Julie! Love the stitching and pretty hand made paper strip! April 25, 2015 at 11:50 AM.

Julie's Junk Drawer

The content in this blog is soley based on my thoughts and opinions. Monday, August 17, 2015. A little late on this one. Leela is growing like a weed, we are now in 6 month clothing (still sz 1 diapers). She has started developing into such a sweet little person who likes to play on her own! Her favorite is laying on her floor mat and admiring the beautiful baby in the mirror while kicking up a storm. She also enjoys the saucer. Thursday, July 23, 2015. I need to stop beating myself up.
