crochet – A Kingfisher Morning
https://julietbernard.co.uk/category/crochet
Adventures in knitting and crochet. I have always loved Sophie Digard’s work. She is a Parisian based designer who creates the most amazing scarves and accessories made of tiny crocheted motifs. She is influenced by nature and artists like Gustav Klimt, and has a unique way of blending extremely fine yarns to create a subtle palette in each piece. Sophie uses skilled artisans on the island of Madagascar to manufacture her work helping to keep their skills alive. November 8, 2016. June 1, 2016. Last year,...
A Kingfisher Morning – Page 2 – Adventures in knitting and crochet
https://julietbernard.co.uk/page/2
Adventures in knitting and crochet. Last week I was on a shoot for one of my clients, Yarn Stories. I met a woman called Kate Goode. Who is an art director, stylist and all round amazing person. She is a similar age to me and, as often happens when women in their 50s get together we chatted about the problem of being who we are at a ‘certain age’. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to be or look younger – I am happy with my age, I just want to be a bit more me. This is now my mantra so watch out! It’s...
In Praise of the Bed Jacket – A Kingfisher Morning
https://julietbernard.co.uk/2016/12/13/in-praise-of-the-bed-jacket
Adventures in knitting and crochet. In Praise of the Bed Jacket. It’s taken me ages to get out of my mum what she wants for Christmas. I have already knitted her a pair of Estonian mittens from a kit I bought at Ally Pally but was really stuck on what else to give her. But my mum is not a twee person and I wanted something a bit more stylish. At the moment she is wearing just a normal cardigan so I searched out some lacy cardigans and found this little beauty called P ergola by Maria Magnusson. You are c...
Crowdfunding – A Kingfisher Morning
https://julietbernard.co.uk/category/crowdfunding
Adventures in knitting and crochet. I have a love for crowd funding, the idea where we can all be investors or show our support for projects we care about, are interested in or simply intrigued by. I think that crowd funding is an absolutely brilliant way for craft businesses to get projects off the ground. In fact, if it had been more accepted when I was working on Planet Handmade we might have been able to get the funding we needed to become advocates for small makers, but ho hum. A 3D drawing pen) are...

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: July 2015
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Sunday, 26 July 2015. At the beginning I suppose! I was amazed by just how the slightest tweak to the brake band could make such a difference to my spinning. I managed to spin the finest yarn during that day. I am very proud of this alpaca yarn! We were encouraged to take samples of our yarn and record them for future reference. I think it's a brilliant idea and something that I plan to do in the future. To see all the photos I took. I seem to have a bit of a 't...

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: March 2015
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Monday, 30 March 2015. And then there were socks! I got back home from Devon earlier today after a busy weekend of knitting, cake munching and tea drinking! The sock knitting went very well. We started off with a mini sock so that everyone could work through all the stages of knitting a sock. None of the girls had used double pointed needles before, so that in itself was a challenge to overcome! Here are our mini socks for you to admire. Kay popped back for a co...

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: February 2015
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Sunday, 22 February 2015. Normal blogging service has resumed! Here we are, Sunday evening already and half term is almost over. I have very much enjoyed the week off, pottering about each day. Of course I had great plans to get started on writing my school reports (hahaha! But somehow I always managed to find something more appealing to do instead. So how did I spend my week? I have joined a KAL in the Tangled Yarn. Here's a progress photo. It doesn't look ...

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: June 2015
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Sunday, 28 June 2015. There has been no knitting chez josiekitten in the past week. Nothing remotely crafty has happened. And the reason? Florence doesn't seem too worried about my injury! As long as she has somewhere comfortable to sleep, all is well in her furry little world! At the moment, either Mr JK's fleece or mine is her snoozing spot of choice. I may need to do a little retail therapy tonight in the Posh Yarn update. Just to boost the spirits you know!

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: A Cushiony Ta-dah!

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. But all in all, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. What have you been busy creating lately? Nice to see you back JK. Love the cushion, have fun in Germany. 13 August 2015 at 09:00. Your cushion is brilliant, and I think the pink applique is lovely. 13 August 2015 at 09:25. So easy to do watching TV but it is going to take ages! I am about half way.Photos when it is finished.Barbarax. 13 August 2015 at 19:50. And the date is .

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: January 2015
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Sunday, 25 January 2015. Not a stitch was knit . Yes, 'tis true! I did not pick up any knitting all week until yesterday. I had mountains of marking every night from school tests and by the time it was finished, I was too pooped to do anything other than watch a bit of TV before bed. But I have made up for it this weekend, with knitting and sewing both high on the agenda. I took the cushion outside this morning to make the most of some bright winter sunshine.

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: Happy Birthday Flo!
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2015/08/happy-birthday-flo.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Saturday, 1 August 2015. The bunting is up chez josiekitten today to celebrate the 5th birthday of Florence! We don't know when her actual birthday is as she was a rescue cat and her age was estimated at 1 year by the vet when we adopted her. But 4 years ago today, she came to live with us and so we decided that August 1st would be her official birthday. It's hard to remember the nervous, hissing cat we first met. She soon made herself at home. Happy birthday Fl...

The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty: November 2014
http://theknittingexploitsofjosiekitten.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
The Woolly Adventures of a Knitting Kitty. Sunday, 30 November 2014. It's that time of year again! The festive season is upon us once more. Last weekend was 'Stir up Sunday' and we made our Christmas puddings as well as a Christmas cake. Today is Advent Sunday and it's traditional, chez josiekitten, to put up the decorations. So we have spent a very pleasant afternoon getting reacquainted with many 'old friends'! It is pretty special. How could you fail to smile when you look at this? School is super-bus...

My Favourite Shot - The Beautiful Arium Lilly. My Little Bit Of England. Welcome to Juliet's Floral Gallery. Hi, my name is Juliet. I'd like to thank you for visiting this site. This is my chance to share with you two of my great loves, nature and photography. I'm not a great photographer, and I'm not even very good at gardening, but I do enjoy these two hobbies. One of my favourite things is being able to combine the two to produce shots of some of natures finest creations.
A Kingfisher Morning
Monday, 19 May 2014. A dog's bed to dream of. My dogs are probably quite spoilt in the same way my kids are. I am very strict but dote on them, whether on two legs or four. Anyway, as soon as I took it home Buster claimed it, very happily. He quite likes flowery fabric. Oh yes and here is how my husband makes sure the dogs get one meal at a time! It just tickles me every time I see it. Dairylea boxes are so useful. Thursday, 13 June 2013. Orkney – the first cut is the deepest. What it does is create a si...

Counselling | because life could be better!
Because life could be better! 5 counselling questions to consider. June 14, 2015. There’s a lot to consider when you start to think about counselling. Here are five things to bear in mind at the beginning. 1 Is the counselling for you or someone you care about? So if you find that you are convinced that counselling would help a loved one and are becoming increasingly frustrated and distressed by their ambivalence or outright refusal to go down this path then maybe. 3 How much can you afford to spend?
