A New Front Door. I always loved this door. It had great midcentury modern style and so perfectly fit with our little brick ranch house that was, naturally, built in the middle of the last century. Plus it was so old and warped that you could actually see light coming through from outside on three of the four sides. Remember a while ago when I talked about my comfort food-making spree? Well, along with meatloaf and mashed potatoes and quinoa and cheese. I made chicken and dumplings. (Apparently, comfort foods must be a combination of two key ingredients connected by a conjunction. . Sorry, word nerd.). So I was excited to come across this recipe, because it's quick and easy and hearty. I've made it twice since I found it and will undoubtedly make it again. 2 1/2 cups chicken broth. 1 1/2 cups cut-up cooked chicken.

Monday, June 15, 2009. Why do signs outside of elevators say: "In case of fire, use stairs"? For the first six or seven years of my life, I literally thought that I could never use the elevator, in case there was a fire while I was in there. I think its missing a word. "In THE case of fire." or "In the case THERE IS A fire, use stairs." That would be MUCH more clear. Also, why are valuable and invaluable the same thing? Please, can some one explain? Friday, August 28, 2009. Greetings to my long lost blog. Where have I been? So far, I've complete two weeks on dermatology (awesome hours, nice residents, small surgery bonus), two weeks on radiology (booooring, and my grades probably reflect that I was bored the entire time), four weeks on neurology (a completely mixed bag that I both loved and wanted to tear my hair out over), and one week on psychiatry. When you work more than 14 hours in a day, a iced chai is in order, with no guilt.
