Warning we might be radio-active. It’s been a long time getting here. August 8, 2013. August 8, 2013. So a friends asks, “What do you do for a living? I first tell them, “I am an instructional designer” and I wait for the look you know the look. The look is the one of a deer in headlights. They want to be polite so they pretend they know what I just said made perfect sense to them. So what’s the problem? And on top of all that, I am a geek, coffee. So why a blog? Warning we might be radio-active. Being behind causes issues. April 7, 2014. June 1, 2016. I’ve got illustrations to do for my good friends at #jumperjacks.com. I miss working on these fun projects, but if you get a chance, follow up on this one. I’ll be posting them soon. As for website design, the opportunities are growing. But, as usual, I received a reality check in the form of a less than satisfactory grade for a project. I’m trying real hard to compensate for it now. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Warning we might be radio-active. Get feedback…and use it. June 18, 2014. May 30, 2016. I see a lot of instructors who continue to go blindly forward with their courses. Their prescribed discussions, assignments, and assessments all going according to plan. But, what if that plan fails to work for the students? What if the workshop participants are not getting the information they need? It seems there is a natural gap between the instructor and the student. Feedback. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Warning we might be radio-active. Friends at Jumper Jacks. August 8, 2013. August 8, 2013. As a motivator and giver of inspiration, you will not find a better person to work with than Jeffery. He came to me and asked for help with a website. Then he told me the “rest” of the story. What a creative effort he’s putting together at http:/ jumperjacks.com. Albeit a bad one on his site. It is how I feel most days and I knew Jeffery would probably appreciate it. Check it out. August 8, 2013.

Warning we might be radio-active. August 14, 2013. August 14, 2013. We have three different software products we are recording with, so this should be interesting. At least I’ve kept their length down to just a few words. Typically, in the script, we write a lot more about things relative to the bullet points, but we don’t read the slides. For the love of Pietro, don’t read the slides. But for those of you interested in a good approach to presentation design, check it out…. Posted in Instructional design.

Warning we might be radio-active. School is over blues. December 18, 2013. June 1, 2016. Please note the sarcasm in the title of this post. I’ve just finished up with a pair of A’s for the semester, and I can’t complain but I will anyway. I realized that even though we often try to make something great, others just don’t share the vision. Is this a problem? And on that note, something to ponder. So is this the guy you want to help you? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Your email address will not be published.

Warning we might be radio-active. Script Writing – but how? August 9, 2013. August 14, 2013. A lot of the things I do involve writing. I struggled with writing growing up, and I still would rather be drawing. However, it happens that all my hobbies, interests, and the rest of the world want me to write. For one of my hobbies, I spend time writing creatively for and with friends. We joke about our bad spelling and form, but we still have a structure:. Flip-side of the writer’s coin. The new software we ar...

Warning we might be radio-active. Blueberry Candy Canes & a Driveway of Worms. December 22, 2013. June 1, 2016. December in Georgia brings rain. This year, it’s bringing lots of rain. So much rain, that the shop has flooded (nothing serious), the yard looks like a lake, and there must be a dozen or so worms in the driveway doing the backstroke. I’ll post the latest versions of the kid, the teacher, and grandpa later tonight. Gotta send Jumper the business cards. Worms in the Driveway.
