Grease bottom and sides of 8-inch square pan with shortening. 8211; Spread apples in pan. In medium bowl, cut butter with remaining ingredients until well mixed. Sprinkle over apples. 8211; Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a fork.

The Natives Are Restless. Unfortunately, of late some of my breakfast foods have gone missing from the work fridge (WF). I was able to turn a blind eye to such thievery. I mean, I work at a non-profit. And let’s be honest: we are all idealistic, warm-hearted do-gooders here. What man or woman of the non-profit persuasion rips off his or her colleague’s bagels, clearly labeled in the work fridge? Are our salaries just so low that we might stoop to such measures in order to sustain life? I am left confused.
