It is unfortunate that I can’t share it enough only from my texts and pictures, but I hope I can at least give you an idea of how amazing it is to witness the beauty this planet has created. Day 5: Tuesday, June 8, 2010. でもこの日は念願のYellowstone National Parkへ行くことに ずっとずっと行きたかった夢の地。 １番大きいわけではないんだけど、Old FaithfulはYellowstoneの象徴でもある有名な間欠泉で、他の間欠泉と比べてだいたい一定の噴出時間 60-90分間隔 を保っているらしい。 Old Faithfulを見た後は, 周辺のUpper Geyser Basinといってもっと間欠泉があるエリアを見ることに。 でもMorning Glory Poolのこの美しい色 他の温泉もだけど が年々濁ってきていると知ってショックだった。 このGrand Geyserは１番大きい間欠泉らしいんだけど、上の噴出予想時刻サインには 4-8pmの間 って４時間の間のいつ噴出するのか. カテゴリー: 19 days-June 2010. Day 3: Sunday, June 6, 2010. しばらくしてI-15をIdaho Fallsで降りて、そこからは小さな町を通ってHwy 26/Yellowstone Hwyをドライブ。 それからHwy33を進んで行ったら、ついにWyoming州突入 でもHwy33はどんどん山道になっていって、濃い霧に包まれてだんだんと視界が悪くなってきた目をこらしても目の前を見るのさえ困難で、ものすごい緊張しながら運転するかたわら、 でもこの霧が晴れたらどんな場所に着くんだろう って想像するのも楽しくてワクワク. そうしてUtahのOgdenを出てから５時間後、やっとTeton Village Grand Teton National Parkの南にある冬はスキー場があるところ にあるホステルに到着. 笑 しかもその後すぐムースを発見 人生初のムース でもオスじゃないとトレードマークのあのデカい角がないから、目撃しても ん みたいな。

Day 2: Saturday, June 5, 2010. 6:30am.全身筋肉痛と共に起床１日前の長時間のドライブ 重いバックパックのせいかな この筋肉痛でAngels Landingでハイキングなんて無理 って起きた瞬間に感じた。 １番高いところは5,785ft/1,763mもあるんだって 崖っぷちをのぼるだけあって、毎年死者も出るほどで、実際私が去年来た時も中年のおばさんが落ちて亡くなったばっかだった. だけどAngels Landingは去年初めてZionに来た時 2009年の秋 からのぼるのが夢だった。 7am この時点ですでに外は３２度超え…だけど8:30amにはZionの中のthe Grottoというでシャトルバスを降りて、トレイルを歩き始めることに。 駐車場にはwild turkeyもいた デカっ そして右の写真の中の左がAngels Landing。 Walters Wiggleは噂では聞いていたけど、想像以上にキツい まさに ゼェゼェ って息切れ。

Day 1: Zion part2. ８時間のドライブの後、やっとZion National Parkに到着 ３回目の訪問。 着いたのはもう夕方６時 LAより１時間早い 過ぎだったけど、レッドブルのおかげでまだハイキングするエネルギーがなんとか残っていたから、入り口近くのWatchman trailをのぼることに。 ん ヘビ はっ もしやさっきから聞こえるシャーシャー音は そう、ガラガラヘビでした。 この時点でようやく１日中ドライブ ハイキングした疲れがきたんだけど てかこの日の朝にLAを出たなんてすっかり忘れていた 、ありがたいことに田舎町でもどこでもあるwalmartに立ち寄って食料を買い込むことに。 カテゴリー: 19 days-June 2010. Day 4: Monday, June 7, 2010. その後未舗装のでこぼこ道を走って、 前の日と同じMooseというところでまたGrand Teton National Parkに入って、これまた前の日と同じく好みのキュートなレンジャーに出迎えられた でもそのレンジャーのことで頭がいっぱいだったせいか、ふと気づいたら予定していたルートの反対側の道を走っていた私。 と思って、 昨日行ったJenny Lake沿いのscenic driveを走って、展望ポイントへ。 その後はJackson Lake湖畔のColter Bayまでドライブして、サンドイッチを買って食べて、ハイキング行く前に雨に備えておもいっきり”Grand Teton National Park”ってロゴが入った防水 ジャケットを購入。 笑 悲しいことに歩き始めたと同時に雨足が強くなってきてしまったそのうえこのハイキングコースは結構長くて、 Hermitage Pointって半島の先っちょのポイントまでの往復が8-9マイル。

Day 1: Friday, June 4, 2010. 去年の秋にも１人でLAから往復16時間かけてユタ州のZion, Bryce Canyon National Parkまで２泊３日で行ったことはあったけど、ユタから先の北は未知の世界。 心配する友達もいたけど、家族はむしろ そうなの 気をつけていってらっしゃ い みたいな。 だけど右には車がへばりついてて、レーン変更できないそんなこんなで結局焦るも、レーンチェンジできずに、真ん前に出現したのはtumbleweed 西部劇とかの背景で風に流されてコロコロ転がっているあの草 のかたまり そのまますごい衝撃音と悲鳴と共に正面衝突. てっきりこーいうのって草でできてるもんだと思ってたから だって風でコロコロ転がるくらいだから 、その後車を停めてエンジンルームを開けてビックリ車 当時の愛車Harry が無惨にもするどい枝でグサグサに刺されていたハリーぃ;. カテゴリー: 19 days-June 2010.
