The Science Times this week was predictable, but better than the past issues I have read in the last couple of months. Maybe it is because, for horrible reasons, they have something to work with. But besides the coverage of the quake, there were some other interesting articles as well. So, maybe the New York Times is stepping up their game. Just A Pinch
Saturday, April 9, 2011. 1/2 tsp almond extract. Raspberry or strawberry jam. Cream butter, sugar, and almond extract. Gradually blend in flour. Refrigerate dough for 2-3 hours. Form into balls on parchment lined cookie sheet. Make indentations in the balls with your thumb and fill with jam. Bake at 350 degrees for 14-16 minutes. Cool completely and drizzle glaze over top. 1/2 cup powdered sugar. 1 1/2 tsp water. 1/2 tsp almond extract. Sunday, January 30, 2011. I use kitchen scissors to cut the biscuits.
