An RV-10 Builder's Log: February 2013
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 25, 2013. Completed Structure Overview (546.75hrs). I guess this needs another update after finishing the LH upper wing skin and starting on the fuel tanks. 10625hrs of the total belong to the wings, 9hrs of which are solely to the fuel tanks, the remaining 440.5hrs is a mixture of tail and fuselage both still have work to be done on them. As always blue is completed and red is in work. Is there anything else we may need for flying with a baby? How will she respond? 17 20 started fuel ta...

An RV-10 Builder's Log: March 2012
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 31, 2012. After hours of deburring and dimpling holes, the rudder is ready to be primed. I had a little bit of help from a buddy of mine.thanks Mike. I also etched and alodined a few pieces that needed it and got a little start on the horizontal stabilizer. More on that tomorrow. Nothing of any real interest so no pics. (7.0). Friday, March 30, 2012. Thursday, March 29, 2012. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Well I got as far as I could on the vertical stabilizer. At least, without priming ...

An RV-10 Builder's Log: October 2012
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Finally time to connect the two halves of the fuselage together! The stand worked great. It rolls around really easily. I posted more pics as promised. Since the work table was now free of airplane I decided to build the baby a set of chest-of-drawers that we needed. Started and finished it this past weekend. It's made almost entirely from the wood crating the airplane was shipped in, pretty neat. 23 35 riveted fuselage halves. 25 175 bending longerons. 26 15 bending longerons.

An RV-10 Builder's Log: August 2012
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 26, 2012. No pictures since there isn't anything worth seeing. I almost decided against even writing anything. But, for the sake of documenting my time, I decided I should. Although, the quantity of time is pathetic. For good reason though; I helped a friend build a bar top for his kitchen this weekend. (Total time this weekend 2.0hrs). Thursday, August 23, 2012. If I need to make tools finish this airplane things may really slow down. Wed (1.0) Thurs (1.5). Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Also,...

An RV-10 Builder's Log: "Finishing" the Instrument Panel Wiring
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2015/07/finishing-instrument-panel-wiring.html
Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Finishing" the Instrument Panel Wiring. I tried and tried to be really organized with the wires. And, I guess it turned out ok. I get complements from electrical engineers so I suppose I did a good job. But in reality you never see it. So as long as you can figure out where each wire goes when maintenance issues pop up then your in good shape. I love my Passenger Warning label. : ). All finished and installed! Just need the center console and engine controls. What is an RV-10?

An RV-10 Builder's Log: Ignition Wiring and Fuel Flow Sensor
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2015/07/ignition-wiring-and-fuel-flow-sensor.html
Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Ignition Wiring and Fuel Flow Sensor. Back to firewall forward stuff. I have all the wires hanging around for the ignition system I need to tidy up. First you have to figure out timing and install the sensors, etc etc.its all in the instructions. I wanted to cover how I ran the sensor wires through the rear baffle. I drilled a large enough hole to pass the sensor through (it comes pre-wired). We started trying on the headset and letting Ayla play with it around the house. I...

An RV-10 Builder's Log: November 2012
http://buildingrv10.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 13, 2012. I had some edge distance issues with my upper firewall brackets (WD-1002). They are match drilled through the frames from above and if they are like mine don't line up well enough to leave any reasonable edge distance with the rivets. I even tried using a clamp to pull the tabs into place, but it wasn't enough. So here is how I addressed the problem. This is the upper left hand firewall bracket (WD-1002). View looking up. The bracket is made from 0.063" 4130 steel. The spacers...
