Killawarra: February 2014

http://justinmoy.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

44211/4520 approaches Killawarra in 2010. Thursday, 27 February 2014. A few more off the bench. Been very busy finishing off a bit of stuff. Here is some photo's. Not much to be said. Hopefully I may start to fit a bit more of my own stuff onto my modelling bench soon. Just this shot to finish off. I got my hands on a couple of Auscision RKWF's the other day, so it gave me the chance to sit a clean out of the box one next to a weathered one. Friday, 21 February 2014. 15 years of change. Just a quick one&...

Killawarra: October 2014

http://justinmoy.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

44211/4520 approaches Killawarra in 2010. Tuesday, 14 October 2014. A couple of projects. I haven't had much to report. Got a couple of Projects on the hope, or is that a couple of hundred? These are the others that I have to work on. I will really enjoy working on 4528. I have some good idea's for this loco. At the end of it's service in 1994 there was quite a bit of Tuscan showing through the paint. I hope to represent this in the final work. A few other bit's n Pieces. A couple of weathering projects.

Killawarra: May 2014

http://justinmoy.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

44211/4520 approaches Killawarra in 2010. Sunday, 25 May 2014. The Prototype sitting at Taree in 1993. My 3 serviceable 44's. Austrains 44201 was done for a friend. Anyway just a short one. Wednesday, 7 May 2014. The Loco's on this train as running an express table would only be allowed from memory 600 tonnes per loco. So as this train was usually around the 700/800 tonne mark it was usually rostered for 2 loco in the early 90's. Mostly the combos were 44/44 442/45 44/45. Anyway here is a cou...4473/4501...

Killawarra: Auscision 45 class

http://justinmoy.blogspot.com/2014/11/auscision-45-class.html

44211/4520 approaches Killawarra in 2010. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. Here is an overall shot of the finished loco's. They make for a good representation of the Prototype as does all of Auscision's available models. Firstly I will talk about some little modifications that I have made to these models to improve their appearance that are not within the scope of the Manufacturer. A nice feature of the model is the Etch Grill over the main radiators. This is the basic look of doing it this way. There is a c...

Killawarra: August 2014

http://justinmoy.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

44211/4520 approaches Killawarra in 2010. Saturday, 30 August 2014. A couple of bits and Pieces. Been busy as usual so I haven't had that much time to update my blog. I have been pretty busy working on stuff. Here is a couple of projects that have been completed. This is an Austrain's 80 that I have detailed and weathered up to make 8040 appear as it was just before it was placed into storage. I find it amazing that a loco could be running around in this condition. Anyway that is all I have for now.

Wallarah Creek: January 2012

http://wallarahcreek.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 14, 2012. Long time between drinks. It's been over a year since I last posted as things have been pretty hectic in that time. Still I have managed to finish trackwork in the yard and currently in the process of fitting point motors and started wiring. The DL is ready for the paint shop and I have sourced some decals from Al at AR kits. It will be in the AN livery as will both the EL classes. Posted by Wallarah Creek. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wallarah Creek: Slow Progress

http://wallarahcreek.blogspot.com/2010/12/slow-progress.html

Saturday, December 4, 2010. Progress is slowly being made on the staging yards of Wallarah Creek. With being on holidays and taking the family down south for our annual pilgrimage to Merimbula, it has left little time for anything else. Also the Christmas decorations took a few days away from the "Creek" and the long list of jobs the wife had given me. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Posted by Wallarah Creek. NSW Rail Rambler: October 2014

http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Friday, October 24, 2014. Travels with and in Uncle Sam. Over nearly a hundred posts on this blog I think I may have displayed a fairly parochial view of railways. To recompense, it may be time to display a broader horizon, starting with my various travels in the United States of America. This was my first train trip in the States - 3 January 1991 on the Texas Eagle. Over the next eight days I travelled from Texas to Chicago,...

NSW Rail Rambler: July 2015

http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Friday, July 31, 2015. Went down to the local station this morning to watch the star attraction of the NSW heritage railway scene steam by on its way to Botany. Anyway, before I load up this morning's proceedings, here's a couple of 60 classes in revenue service in 1966/67. Both at Campbelltown, both on coal trains. First up, 6002, in February 1966. Now just check out those cars behind 6016! Saturday, July 25, 2015. It even got a...

NSW Rail Rambler: December 2014

http://nswrailrambler.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

A collection of photographs and stories from five decades of train chasing. Sunday, December 7, 2014. Twenty years ago yesterday the NSW State Rail Authority auctioned locomotives which were deigned to be either at the end of their service life and/or surplus to current and anticipated requirements. In what became known as the Great Loco Auction. Another to survive the two decades through a series of (ahem) novel liveries has been 4488. It was purchased for a meagre $17,000. Currently it sits in ...CD re...

Wallarah Creek: Lloyds 82 Class

http://wallarahcreek.blogspot.com/2012/05/lloyds-82-class.html

Friday, May 18, 2012. I experimented with a flat piece of aluminium but it didn't have the same strength as the angle. With the body mountings fouling the angle, pieces were removed from each corner and filed to suit. Holes were then drilled using the existing chassis as a pilot then secured with the original 10 BA screws. The motor, mounting, couplings and final drives were re-assembled and all re-wired. A small piece of cardboard (yellow) was added to stop earthing. It was then tested.

Justin's Short Movies

A Spy wtih a Plan. This is a cartoon that I made in paint. Don't worry I got to the hospital right after I filmed this and they were able to put me back together as if nothing ever happened. Nothing to do with Pizza. I had a little time on my hands so I made this little piece about me fighting with myself. Some people didn't believe that I could fly so I film myself doing it.

Justin Moy's Blog - Home

Moving 30 Jul 2013. This past weekend, I moved from one place in North Park, a neighborhood in San Diego to another one in North Park. The new place is much closer to the heart of North Park and places are more easily walkable. Starting freshman year of college until last year, I had lived in a different place every year:. First place in Champaign. We had a five bedroom, two bathroom place for $275/per person per month. As bad as that place was, some of the best college memories were made there.
