Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. April 17, 2016. This was the last weekend of operation for the Heaven’s Gate Triple so I thought it prudent to use my voucher for Sugarbush before Lincoln Peak closed for the season. Sunshine and warm weather combined for a fun day despite the lack of quality bumps. Continue reading →. Stowe: Second Powder Day of the Year. April 9, 2016. What I found was startling…. I arrived at Killington surprised by what I found: a resort still busy with guests (probably due to advanced booking and not being able to cancel). I was dumbfounded to see Snowshed and Ramshead bustling with activity and skiers. Given the conditions I skied today, it would be a safe assumption that those skiers did not have a good time. Middle H...

Today was the tenth day and first powder day of my season. During an average season, I would have had at least that many powder days and more than double that many total days by the end of February. But this is not an average season. And today was not an average powder day. Today wasn’t about documenting and reporting. It wasn’t about trying to...Jay just beca...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Category Archives: Mad River Glen. Mad River Glen: Where Is Everyone? February 21, 2016. Mad River Glen received two inches of dense snow overnight. But who’s counting? Any new snow is good this year. And two inches was good enough to open almost all of the Glen’s on piste terrain excepting Upper Paradise, Cat Bowl, Panther, Slalom Hill, and Partridge. I was amazed at how much terrain was open and how good it was skiing. Continue reading →. April 4, 2015.

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Stowe: Second Powder Day of the Year. April 9, 2016. The forecast suggested new snow at higher elevations in Northern Vermont. I had a voucher to burn so I set my alarm extra early and made the drive to Stowe looking forward to a few inches (which would be a top five day of the year for my season). With modest expectations, I boarded the Forerunner and prepared for disappointment. What I found was startling…. Continue reading →. March 9, 2016. After clo...

My favorite posts on social media involve friends sharing their passions, particularly those of an artistic, outdoorsy, athletic, or adventurous nature.
