Friday, December 28, 2012. 4 days, and it will be 2013. Most of the time I can't really figure out the fuss about the new year. Every year pretty much ends up as the 'same-old, same-old'. Same jobs (usually), same stresses, same traffic jams, same weather. So does it actually make ANY difference? Do ANY of you (my loyal readers - even if there is only one reader :-p ) find that the rolling round of the new year makes any difference at all? 2) Get fitter, get healthier. As for the second resolution, YES!

Tuesday, July 10, 2012. USA, Part 2: Milwaukee and Oconomowoc. Luckily we had an iPad with us, with which we were able to navigate our way, OFF the highway and to the restaurant, arriving there ONLY 1 hour later than planned! Luckily Cousins R and L had the good sense to eat without waiting for us! Didn't want them fainting away from hunger :-D. And after lunch, said our goodbyes to Anne, and I hopped (bags, baggage, and I) into R and L's car, and off we went to Oconomowoc. We ended up eating too much!

Well, 98% of a kitchen, which is pretty darned good, cos it means we can now unpack and get our dining and living room back to normal, and we can resume cooking as per normal too! I think I am finally coming to accept that Ken is gone and though it is still hurtful, and can still hit really hard at times (particularly when I hear certain songs! Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Goodbye, my love. I will always love you. For those who may not yet know, my dearly beloved Husband passed away today. All this came to an end today. I gave them his jacket (the one he wore when we got married), trousers, shoes, shirt, tie, belt, socks. Selected a nice coffin, and urn for his ashes, and they confirmed that the appointment at the crematoria was scheduled for 2pm tomorrow. But I know also, that I will always have him in my heart, and I will never forget him.

Monday, June 29, 2009. Stopped the chemo tablets, for now. We are seeing the oncologist on Wednesday, so let's see what happens then - whether he keeps Husband on these chemo pills, or changes them, or what. We are also seeing the gastro surgeon, as Husband has so much discomfort in the abdominal region even without the trots, that we want to be sure that his stomach and intestines are alright. Both doctors - the pain management specialist, as well as the hospice doctor - have been rather concerned at the rapid increase in pain levels experienced by Husband and, of course, the concurrent need for increase of pain medication. Friday, October 30, 2009. Chemo #14, done and dusted. And we still have the same conundrum - all factors tested show that Husband is perfectly healthy. but the CEA has gone UP again, from 338 (2 weeks ago), to 580 now. Yes, it still worries us, but as long as the "disease weight" in the body (lovely turn of phrase there! The new drug that Husband is taking causes, as one of its side effects, BACK PAIN (reported in 16% of patients receiving Erbitux with irinotecan - which is the combination that Husband is being given).
