Just Water's "Singin' In The Rain" 45 went from idea to reality in 24 hours. Mitch catches some of the Singin' In The Rain. Mitch writes a punk rock arrangement of the title song. The band and management assemble at Fly Studios in Brooklyn. The tape is rolling and the very first take of "Singin' In The Rain" is the one that appears on the final record. The guitars, bass, and drums are all from the live take with no overdubs. Master tapes and artwork are sent off, and 10,000 copies are pressed the next day.

Just Water nearly crossed paths with the Rolling Stones twice in 1978. Peter Frank, who was directing a video of the Stone's performing "Miss You", let Just Water use the soundstage right before the Stone's shoot. The video of Singin' In The Rain was shot in a few clandestine hours. A few month's later Just Water became the first band to play "rock night" at Studio 54. The Stones were supposed to play a secret show the next night.

The cover shoot for The Riff took place at Sam and Rose's Candy Store on Fillmore Avenue in Brooklyn. The counter shown on the LP cover was usually covered in Egg Creams and Lime Rickys. The entire photo shoot is available under "the images" tab.

All four of Just Water's managers were somehow connected to some of the great "British Invasion" bands.

Just Water's guitarists used the same Hiwatt guitar amps at every gig of their 7 year career. Danny used a few stomp pedals but mostly went directly into his Hiwatt. Mitch was pre-amped through a small Fender Princeton, and then into the Hiwatt to keep the crunch even at low volumes. In 1972 Hiwatt amps were still hand wired in England, and the sole US distributor was a one-man operation in New York's Flatiron Building.
