JV and THE BIG CATS. An opportunity exists for a conservationist, a businessman or a corporation to sponsor the white tiger born at Tiger Canyons on the 9th of January 2009. The sponsor gets the photographic rights of the white tiger for 2 years and the right to name her. JV will rehabilitate the white tiger and her brother and sister (both normal) to the wilds over the next 2 years. The cost of the sponsorship of the white cub is 110 000 Euros. The rights for the normal cubs are negotiable.

JV and THE BIG CATS. Tiger Canyons is situated in the Province of the Free State in South Africa in the district of Philippolis. It lies adjacent to South Africa's second largest lake, the Van der Kloof Dam. The rugged Paaiskloof gorge runs through the sanctuary. The habitat is extremely diverse with aquatic and riverine bush along the lake, rugged mountains flattening out to open savannah grasslands with thickets. The species diversity is wide with many suitable medium to large size prey available.

Together with professional photographers Daryl and Sharna Balfour, I am moving along the floor of a deep canyon at Tiger Canyons in the Free State of South Africa. Three 10-month-old tigers run, stalk, pounce, and play in front of us. On the 10th of January 2009 two normal, and one white tiger had been born to tigress Julie. Unfortunately she had abandoned the cubs soon after birth and now I was rehabilitating them, preparing them for a life in the wild.

JV and THE BIG CATS. John Varty (JV) is a South African conservationist and filmmaker who specializes in Big Cats. He was born in Johannesburg on 27th November 1950. JV has three children, Daughter Savannah and twin boys, Sean and Tao. JV and his brother Dave started what is now the Famous Londolozi Game Reserve. Proposal for TV Series written by Phil Fairclough.
