Dewey was in #4, I was in #5, Laura in # 12. It was a smooth start-not too crowded though there were thousands of people running. Saturday, April 4, 2009. SoI venture downtown to the Quarter yesterday after registration, and I stepped into PirateFest! Yesgrown adults dressed as Pirates. Ha So, gone is the aroma of stale beer, urine and rotting food. Bummer. I walked around Jackson Square, with all the Palm Readers, Street Musicians and artists. I was going to stop into Cafe DuMonde but it was packed, so I headed for a coffee house I used to like to go to. Of course.it was not there! Replaced by a Tourism Office who rented Segways!
