To get qualified to be a Search and Rescue dog. Dogs need to attend 2 training weekends a year plus a assessment course held every year which is assessed by the NZ Police. Tess is a talented switched on search dog with loads of experience and personality. She has had 3 successful finds. Tess has now retired. Seika is now operational as a tracking and wilderness dog after passing the assessment in Waiouru and Hanmer Springs. Design by Free Website Templates.

Accommodation is available at the finish line, Friday and Saturday nights. Hot showers at the end of the race for those who stay Fri and/or Sat nights. Cost is $20pp per night. The main building contains a large dining/work room, large kitchen and stores room, plus the toilets and ablutions area. The second building has 3 separate rooms with 8 beds and foam mattresses in each. You will need to supply your own bedding, linen, towels etc. Bunks and mattresses only are supplied. There are no drop bag facilities. Runners must carry their compulsory gear on them at all times. There will be two aid stations and water available on course (See Aid Stations).
