Monday, June 8, 2009. Accident Site and Other Scenery. Northeast Texas sprouts lots of lovely roadside wildflowers. Here is a shot from a highway offramp. The last photo I shot in the local cemetery where I took a walk one evening after a long day in dusty wharehouses. What a parallel to spend the day in dusty environs of stacked crates and old engines and then come to this tranquil and lovely place full of memories of the living and fresh flora. Sunday, January 18, 2009. I flew out of Kabul on the 3rd of January, the first day it snowed in Kabul. I was quite nervous because of the snow. My visa expired that day and I feared what might happen if I couldn't leave Afghanistan till later in the week. The desert-like mountain terrain of Iran and Iraq were clear to see below. Monday, May 25, 2009. Ben, Sam, Saige, Addie and I went with Grandma and Grandpa McDavitt to visit some family grave sites today. It was a really nice morning. The kids wrote notes, and we took them to Lincoln. The last stop was at Grandma and Grandpa McDavitt's grave (Dean and Virginia). Awww, I just saw this post. I remember visiting family graves when I was younger. It really made me appreciate my family history. The kids' notes to Lincoln were so sweet. Thank you. May 30, 2009 at 11:47 AM.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. My favorite shoe store. Is the Nearly New shop on Vivion. My sister-in-law Laura mentioned the store the other day, and it put me in the mood to make another pilgrimage. I brought home a great stash of shoes. Five pair of shoes for $12 total. I love the red pair! It was certainly worth the trip! June 30, 2009 at 2:30 PM. Having your house painted doesn't necessarily hit the top of the "exciting" list for most people, but when you've been working for three summers, almost single-handedly, to paint your house, and you finally hire someone and it gets done in a week.that's exciting!
