Nachdem wir das stinkige Rotorua verlassen haben, sind wir in Taupo gelandet. Taupo hat eine Population von 21`000 Einwohnern und liegt an einem tollen, grossen Binnensee. Der See übrigens, ist das feurige Herz der Nordinsel der zugleich ein Vulkankrater ist. Er ist aus einem der grössten Vulkanausbrüchen entstanden. Unsere Bleibe ist die Point View Lodge.
