kahukahu: January 2010
http://kahukahu.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Being snowed in this weekend forced me to be resourceful for meals. Last night I made vegetable soup, using the last of the homemade chicken stock and any vegetables I had around. I didn't have any sourdough or crescent rolls, but I remembered buying a pack of three envelopes of yeast for my daughter's biology experiment last week. I always have plenty of flour on hand, so I decided to make dinner rolls. Posted by Sheri Payne.

http://kahukahu.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Wednesday, May 22, 2013. I have a husband who loves potato salad. LOVES it. However I loathe it. Particularly the standard, heavy-on-the-mayo, throw-in-some-pickles kind. Here and there I've had some good, non-standard varieties, but it is not something I will think of when I am making a menu. Http:/ bobbiskozykitchen.blogspot.com/2011/09/red-skin-potato-salad.html. 2 pounds small red skinned potatoes, scrubbed and quartered. 1/2 red onion, diced.
kahukahu: Sausage and Kale Soup
http://kahukahu.blogspot.com/2012/02/sausage-and-kale-soup.html
Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Sausage and Kale Soup. I had never heard of this soup before when a friend brought it to a potluck at my house. It was so delicious! Of course, like with every recipe I get, I had to modify it somewhat. I always use turkey Italian sausage - both for the lower fat content and for the taste. I also changed how it was made, mostly so it would cook faster because I had guests coming over in about 20 minutes. Chop or slice unc...

Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Sunday, January 30, 2011. It's been a long, long time since I had those incredible, hot, freshly made corn tortillas that I remember from authentic cooks, like our childhood family friend, Trudy. It took this recent trip to Mazatlan to reawaken my love for them. We had them everywhere, with everything, and they were truly amazing! Posted by Sheri Payne. Pico de Gallo recipe. We were blessed to work together with some local ladies in one of the church...
kahukahu: The Evolution of an Enchilada
http://kahukahu.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-evolution-of-enchilada.html
Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Tuesday, May 7, 2013. The Evolution of an Enchilada. I grew up on enchiladas. My mom made them on a regular basis. I learned how to make them at a young age. They were a staple in our household. As with most recipes I enjoy, I'm always trying to improve it. Years ago, I began swapping out chicken for the beef. When Mexican cheeses became more available, I swapped that in. I began adding green chilies to the filling for more flavor. I ...Last week as ...

The Payne Family: Typhoon Kompasu
http://paynefamilyonthego.blogspot.com/2010/08/typhoon-kompasu.html
Our Adventures in Okinawa. August 31, 2010. August 31, 2010. In the two years we have now been on Okinawa, we have yet to experience a Typhoon. There have been many which have skirted the island, but we have been denied the "main event". From the looks of things, that is about to change! Of course, Mike is missing all the fun.he is currently in DC for a Brain Trauma Conference (and I'm hoping he leaves before Hurricane Earl cause problems! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Our Adventures in Okinawa. July 22, 2010. June 30, 2010. Torii Beach with the Amelia's. For our June out with the Amelia's (a Spouse's Travel Group), we had an outing to Torii Beach. The weather was great- meaning not unbearably hot and muggy! We did a potluck lunch which worked out well- BBQ hot dogs, fresh sushi, delicious brownies (thanks Margy! Our Adventures in Okinawa. July 18, 2010. Random posts from the past. January 2010- David's Cell Project. David made a Animal Cell project in Science. We thought it turned out pretty Cool. He made the body of it out of homemade play dough and the parts out of various candies. The nucleus was a golf ball- and that was a lot tougher to cut then we anticipated. Our neighbor Steve came over to help David- for which I will be eternally thankful! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Our Adventures in Okinawa. June 28, 2010. June 27, 2010. While we were out on the Battle of Okinawa Tour, we encountered a few "friends" along the way. For those of you not in Okinawa, spiders here can grow to epic proportions. Fortunately, we saw these before going face first into their webs (always a heart stopping moment while you dance around making sure it is just the web stuck in your hair and not the. The Payne Family: April 2009
http://paynefamilyonthego.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Our Adventures in Okinawa. April 23, 2009. I'll take a hamburger, fries, and that shirt over there. This last Saturday we finally had a chance to go out and cruise around. Matt had a car wash for track in the morning so we got a late start. By the time we stopped at the bazaar on base, picked him up, went to the PX, and had lunch (at the A&W on base) it was well after 3pm. We just headed out with vague ideas of heading to Naha. Notice the gentleman directing traffic? That's one thing we have noticed here...

Our Adventures in Okinawa. June 19, 2009. Such Happy Happy Faces. I drug the boys out to take some pictures the other day. They were less then willing.the high humidity and empty stomachs were not the best combination. Regardless, it at least gave me a chance to try out a new place to play around. The same picture can look very different- here is the same picture of David in color, Black and White and Antique. I liked the look of the stone steps. Matt not too thrilled- the water just washed over his foot.

Kahukahu: Hawaii'an. to offer food and prayers to God. Friday, June 14, 2013. My daughter decided, last minute, she wanted a Mexican fiesta for her graduation party. You know, to satisfy the ancestors. Sigh. I was prepared for a luau, had lots of recipes and great ideas. Now, how to feed a crowd? None of my normal recipes would be easy to prepare in large amounts, in a way to keep the table stocked and hot all day. For the authentic flavor, I used the ideas for my ingredients from this recipe:. 8 garlic ...
