Sunday, November 18, 2007. This article states, "since the chances that shoppers will buy something are directly related to how long they spend shopping, and how long they spend shopping is directly related to how deep they get pulled into the store." Drawing a person into a store is obviously a very important part of generating sales. So, what draws you into a store? What keeps you browsing in that store? Monday, November 19, 2007. Question from Kate's blog:. Is the power of shopping really up to the store owner or can a consumer control their own shopping habits? Have you ever thought about your own shopping habits? Do you browse through everything, only go for what catches your eye, or have one particular reason for entering a store? Can you be swayed by the way a store is set up, or will you only go for what really interests you? Can the way a store is set up influence what you end up buying?

They market to guys and girls between the ages of 15-24 who want the "preppy" look for a decent price. The store initially attracts you into the store because of the huge glass windows on either side of the entrance modeling new clothing and sales currently going on at AE. West, and many others. Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Why design a helmet that people prefer not to wear? Another blog I liked was Kelsey's blog because she tied in marketing with design. I have always been interested in marketing, but I never realized that design was a part of the marketing process. I like the aspect of marketing and I might look more into it as a possible career for the future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). How to Design the Perfect Product Article. Robert's Blogger: My Question
http://rpblogger.blogspot.com/2007/11/my-question.html
Friday, November 16, 2007. This article talks a lot about how the set up of the store, the environment, and the clues given by shoppers themselves can make or break a business. I, on the other hand, always believed that the sales people are the ones who can help sell a product. Do you think that sales people have any major impact on the whether or not a business flourishes or fails? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). American Eagle Store Analysis. View my complete profile.

Thursday, September 27, 2007. Interestingly enough, the common tendency to blame ourselves for failures with everyday objects goes against the normal attributions people make. In general, it has been found that people attribute their own problems to the environment, those of other people to their personalities. Norman, Donald A. The Design of Everyday Things. Nov 25, 2007. 1 I went to Macy's. They market to mid to upper-class people who have dispensible income. B) Inside the store, there was Christmas music going because it was Black Friday and that's what pretty much all the stores do. It was very loud, due to all the shoppers. I would assume it was more crowded than usual. It seemed to have the normal sounds of people busy Christmas shopping on black Friday, meaning everywhere is busy and slightly noisy.
