Schafer's move to the south! Monday, December 17, 2012. Chili cook off, bonfires, falling leaves and Notre Dame football. Isn't fall the best season ever! We have had such a great time this fall, so much has been going on. First right after Labor day we took a family trip to watch our beloved fighting Irish play in South Bend against the Purdue Boilermakers. It was a close, exciting game. Notre Dame student section. Jim and Eric enjoy some pregame activities. Family photo on the Irish practice field.

Schafer's move to the south!: July 2011
http://schafersmove.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Schafer's move to the south! Friday, July 29, 2011. While Leah was here we did a couple of sight seeing trips. The first on was to visit Lake Lanier. It is a very big lake just 30 miles north from our home in Sandy Springs. We drove up Sunday morning, rented a wave runner and hung out there for about 4 hours. Jim and Leah getting ready to take off. We didn't see that much - it had lots of little fingers and coves. We took turns riding. We could just pull up to the dock and switch. As we walked we saw a r...

Schafer's move to the south! Monday, March 11, 2013. Christmas joy and winter time. Christmas came and went so fast this year. It was nice to be able to decorate the house using holly from our yard. Table center piece with a candle and holly. Decorating the doors with holly wreaths. Putting our dated ornament on the tree, this year we bought it at Notre Dame. Jim got a new Notre Dame corn hole game. Just what we need for all of our tailgate parties. :-). S'mores by the fire. Yes, we roasted taquitoes!

Schafer's move to the south! Monday, August 6, 2012. Family Time at Easter (Sorry, I thought I posted this a couple of months ago! We had a great Easter with both Eric and Leah visiting us in GA. It's difficult to get all of us together now with Leah teaching in Phoenix and Eric having the schedules and deployments of the Air Force. It was a good family time. We spent the day in the small town, went to St. Peters for Good Friday Stations of the Cross and enjoyed the views of West Point Lake. After the tr...

http://schafersmove.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Schafer's move to the south! Tuesday, April 2, 2013. February and March in the South. As I said last time we have been enjoying the winter months as much as the summer. It has been a little chilly at times, down into the 20's but it hasn't kept us from heading down to the lake every weekend. Jim takes charge on the playground. We stopped to see the new kids at the Tomko-Thompson farm. Family dinner at the Nilsson's. Lunch at Joe's BBQ. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Grandma's Graces: October 2013
http://grandmasgraces.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 1, 2013. A few years ago, we updated our kitchen and she made this valance and the pillow with the left over material. Tom's grandma's rocking chair is a lot more comfortable with this seat cover. I also love the little pillow that came with it. I think I am most appreciative for her ability to sew doll clothes with all the little extras. Did you notice the lace and ribbon? If you follow this blog you have seen this doll before. She was rescued from certain "throw away" with a new bo...

Grandma's Graces: June 2013
http://grandmasgraces.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. This summer started early with a visit from Natalie (3) and Jack (5). Then a quick trip to Savannah to see Cooper and Tucker, now 5, graduate from pre-school. They do it right in the south, caps and gowns and a great program! A summer tradition, chalk sidewalk art and hopscotch. Thanks Conley! Can't say enough about enjoying the flowers and trees throughout the summer. It is such a joy to begin the day looking at the landscape. Even on rainy days. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
