Versys Ventures, and more ...: TomTom Rider Update 4
http://versysventures.blogspot.com/2015/07/tomtom-rider-update-4.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. TomTom Rider Update 4. I've now had my TomTom Rider GPS for a little over three months and 8,100 miles. Not much more to report beyond my previous four reports (linked below) that I think cover most everything. However, having just wrapped a 4,555 mile trip through 15 states I have a few more "closing" points. Planning on the Fly. Doing that as it would seem to be kind of dangerous, but you can. I can either ride in it . or not. However, what TomTom is really. So when TomTom advise...

Versys Ventures, and more ...: TomTom Rider Upgrade?
http://versysventures.blogspot.com/2015/10/tomtom-rider-upgrade.html
Monday, October 5, 2015. I've provided a series of reports in this blog on my TomTom Rider that I purchased from RevZilla back in May 2015. It now has almost 13,000 miles under its belt and has done an outstanding job! It appears that the Rider 400 finally made its release in the United States and RevZilla. Has it for $499.99. Being a new TomTom fan, I was interested to take a closer look and see if, perhaps, an upgrade to this new version may be in order. Style and Screen Size:. Navigation is what it's ...

Versys Ventures, and more ...: TomTom Rider Update 6
http://versysventures.blogspot.com/2016/03/tomtom-rider-update-6.html
Wednesday, March 2, 2016. TomTom Rider Update 6. I have been posting updates to my review of a Gen5 TomTom Rider SatNav that I purchased back in May 2015. It would, perhaps, be nice to put them all together. However, as I use the device I continue to have new experiences worth noting. Here is a list of linked posts to my prior Gen5 Rider updates. Obviously, I've had a lot of experiences. :). That I purchased for light Florida dual sporting. The cradle mount threads (female end) are 4mm deep and the total...

Versys Ventures, and more ...: February 2016
http://versysventures.blogspot.com/2016_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 19, 2016. I noticed that my dragons are starting to come off. The only place to buy replacements is at Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort in Robbinsville, NC . home of the Tail of the Dragon. Well, I won't be heading up there until mid-May or else I'd probably be riding in snow. But you can bet it'll be my first stop when I can finally abandon Florida for the great riding areas around the country. Thursday, February 18, 2016. Rear Brake Maintenance (Part 2). Saturday, January 23, 2016. Co2 Inflation Devices for Motorcycles. There are a number of motorcycle-specific Co2-based repair kit offerings. One example I recently came across is the BikeMaster Tire and Tube Flat Repair Kit. Another repair kit I found was by well-known motorcycle accessory supplier, Pit Posse. Which offers an inflator valve and two cylinders for $12. They state on their website that most motorcycle tires require 1 1/2 cartridges and ATV tires require 2 cartridges. But let's back up with ...

http://devilscreekdr.blogspot.com/2017/01/armor-fz-09.html
Sunday, January 1, 2017. As if I didn't have enough blogs going on.have you seen my fishing blog? I started a new one today: Armor FZ-09. I'm about three days from taking delivery on a 2016 Yamaha FZ-09. After spending 2016 just on dual sports, I was jonesing for a (cheap! Road bike. I think the FZ will take care of that. The "Armor" is in reference to the armor gray color of this model. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Central Florida, Florida. View my complete profile. AMA Dual Sport Series.

Devils Creek DR: Dunlop D606
http://devilscreekdr.blogspot.com/2016/12/dunlop-d606.html
Sunday, December 25, 2016. I've been running Shinko Crossfly E-804/805 on the DR650. I have been very happy with the E-805 rear. I'm not particularly happy with the E-804 in the sand.and we always have to deal with sand on our trails. In fact, while not entirely the tire's fault, I took a fall in May on this bike in a sandy rut and the damage to my knee pretty much screwed up my entire 2016 season. I can't think of too much else I need to do to get the DR650 trail ready. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Devils Creek DR: April 2016

Saturday, April 30, 2016. Suzuki DR650 Engine Temperatures. I carried my infrared thermometer along on my ride today with an eye toward getting some engine temperature readings on my new 2016 Suzuki DR650S. The DR650 is air cooled but also has a very decent sized oil cooler. It does not have an engine temperature gauge, though, so I have no idea what temps the motorcycle runs at. Thought I'd take a few minutes out of my ride to take some readings. The way I did the test was to sustain the test-speed rang...

Devils Creek DR: July 2016
http://devilscreekdr.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 23, 2016. What's a Bush Pig? Thursday, July 21, 2016. I finally got around to purchasing a couple key blanks for my 2016 Suzuki DR650. The motorcycle came with two keys. I keep one stored away. Normally, I carry a third spare key on the bike somewhere in case I lose the key on the road, although, of course I've never done that.wink, wink. I got an extra blank so my son can have a key. Price: $2.94 each x 2 = $5.88. Total: $7.92 for two blanks. Labels: 2016 Suzuki DR650 Key Blank. The only ...
