When the gate to a new path opens up, make sure that you humbly walk-the-walk and keep a true and steady course. Knowing what is going on around you also gives you a chance to see where others are coming from. The Hammonds of Kanazawa. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. I stumbled upon another Billy Childish interview. And it made my day. I have written about him. Before, and it was soothing to see that he hasn't changed much. He was talking about a toy gun that he made when he was a boy, and still had. It was very primitive looking, and as an object it really had some kind of aesthetic going. Billy also touches on what is way to prevalent in museums: boring artwork. It wouldn't be that bad if marketed rebellion.

The Hammonds of Kanazawa. Sunday, April 5, 2015. Last day of Spring vacation. Saigawa river in Kanazawa, circa 1996. The cherry trees had an unusual bloom this year. Just a week ago there was hardly any pink to the buds, and then two days of hot and windy weather cause them to pop out, and then rain. The Hammonds of Kanazawa. Saturday, April 11, 2015. Not the real Umbrella Man. I have never, (and would never) taken his photo. I don't even remember when he stopped wearing the jersey. Without out it, he didn't stick out so much. I did remembered his face, though. He reminded me of Hagi-san, a friend of a ceramic artist I know. The Hammonds of Kanazawa. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. The elderly woman in the photo reminds me of the elders in my circle of confidants. I met with a mentor this week (at our usual wagash. I shop), and as he always does, he made me feel better not only about some personal matters, but about life in general.
