For each event, a Pilots Approval Checklist must be completed. Typically a pilot may be asked to fly two or three 30 minute flights during a Helping Wings Day. Flying for Helping Wings is an enormously rewarding experience. We welcome new pilots. If you are correctly qualified and meet our minimum experience level, we would love to hear from you. Presentation of the 2015 Helping Wings Flying Scholarship. Presentation of the 2015 Helping Wings Flying Scholarship took place at the Jersey Aero Club on Friday 26th June in the presence of our Patron H.E. General Sir John McColl, Lady McColl and Myra Shacklady, Commercial Director of our sponsors, Ports of Jersey. The 2013 and 2014 winners, Matthew Perrée (here represented by his fiançée Sarah) and Gerard McGonigle received a certificate and wings for having completed their Helping Wings programme.

Les Amis - An article in the JEP by reporter Emily Smith. Residents of Les Amis had the best view of the Island this week when they were flown high into the sky thanks to Helping Wings charity. Helping Wings treated 11 residents of Les Amis, who all suffer with learning difficulties, and 4 carers to a flying lesson at Jersey Aero Club enjoying spectacular views over St Ouen bay, St Helier and Gorey. Helping Wings, the Jersey light aviation charity, is delighted to announce its 2016 bursary worth 2000 of flying training with the Jersey Aero Club for a local disabled person. Around the world, many disabled people have discovered that the freedom associated with being able to fly an aircraft is within their reach. Helping Wings Flying Scholarship Flight III. Today started out in very typical British fashion, it was overcast and periods of rain with high winds. Later that afternoon the weathered had cleared and the sun was glowing again. However the wind still remained very strong and gusty, we decided to go up and survey the current weather conditions.
