Accommodation is in an original sandveld cottage with the charm and character of the olden days. Furniture is kept simple and uncluttered so as not to distract from the vernacular architecture of the walls and windows. The smell of thatch as you walk in completes the earthy feel. Please note that there is no TV or radio in the rooms and no cell phone reception. Separate room with double bed and en-suite bathroom. About 8km towards the end of the valley lies Banghoek Nature. Where you can enjoy nature walks and discover bushmen paintings. 50 km to the West lies Velddrif, Port Owen. With kilometers of unspoilt beaches. Is about 35km to the east where you can do some basic grocery shopping. From here it is only a short drive up the Versfeld Pass to the top of Piketberg mountain. Which is a beautiful fruit and protea growing area. There you can also visit Excelsior Farm. The quaint, one horse town of Aurora.

How should we contact you? Would you like to make a Booking. Kapteinskloof is about a 2 hour drive from Cape Town (or approx. 180km), depending on your place of departure in the city. Take the N7 north towards Piketberg. Just before Piketberg you will see a PPC. Cement factory on your left as well as a turn-off to ' De Hoek. Take that left turn until you come to a T-junction. Turn right. Take the next turn-off left towards ' Velddrif, Aurora.
