I am originally from Ukiah, California. As a child I attended art lessons at the Mendocino Art Center in northern California and later pursued my Bachelor of Fine Art Degree by attending Goddard College in Vermont, California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, and graduated from Temple University, Tyler School of Fine Art in Philadelphia in 1975. I returned to graduate school in 1991 to work on my Master of Fine Art in Sculpture, graduating in 1993 from California State University Fullerton.

The work I have included in this category encompasses many different stylistic periods over 35 years. These include early work (70’s-80’s) representing visual sounds. It was my goal to have the viewer hear with their eyes. Over the years, many of the works incorporate images of faces and hands. Although abstracted, they are more representational in their content. I believe hands and faces act as windows into a person’s character and reflect who they are by their uniqueness.

ROSIE'S DOG BEACH PUBLIC ART COMMISSION. In progress over 2 years, Rosie’s Dog Beach public art project is finally completed! After a statewide $30,000 competition, I was chosen to create sculptures, delineating the newest addition to the area where dogs are allowed off of their leash to play! I designed and fabricated dogs at play out of 3/8" plate steel with powder coating either in red, blue, or orange. Links to published articles about this project:.
