Monday, May 11, 2009. Journal #3- Chapters 8-9 from the perspective of Jem. We had two weeks of the coldest weather since 1885, Atticus said. Mr. Avery said it was written on the Rosetta Stone that when children disobeyed their parents, smoked cigarettes and made war on each other, the seasons would change: Scout and I were burdened with the guilt of contributing to the aberrations of nature, thereby causing unhappiness to our neighbors and discomfort to ourselves. 8220;Ask him,” I whispered. Next mornin...

Thursday, March 5, 2009. 8220;After all, wasn’t this why I had wanted to come to America in the first place, so I could make my way on my own instead of bein’ taken care of, first by my parents, then by a husband? Would Da and Ma be proud of me if they could see me now? 8221; Margaret Rose, Pg.154. What do you think will happen next in the story now that Maureen will start working at the Triangle? Why do you think Mr. Moscovitz didn’t want to pay Margaret Rose for her work? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

I guess everyone was interested in this case of Tom Robinson. I wonder how he feels right now. Does he feel as nervous as I do? I think today is going to be a long day I hope I can go through all of it. I hope that Tom Robinson is found guilty. 8220;What's so interestin'? 8221; my dad asked. To the witness stand.

Later, Jem asked me if I was going out for the Methodi...
